I bought the pace setter long tube headers along with a y pipe for my trans am a week ago. Along with that, I have purchased the Bilstein Suspension kit-which includes 4 matched shocks and springs and lowers the ride ~ one inch. Will there be clearance problems with this? Should I forgo the suspension package?

The crappy part about it is that the dorm that i live in-is that it's absolutely filled with speed bumps.

Lots of guys on here live with it day to day, but I would never lower a 4th gen that I intended to put LTs on.
And I am hardcore.
It will help if you have slip fit collectors, my Hooker LTs have 3 bolt collectors and the bottoms are road filed flat. I am running an Eibach drag launch kit.
I switched to a taller tire up front and that helped alot.
I recently put the car on a severe diet and the weight loss gave me about another inch of clearance, so now its no sweat but I know what it was like for a short time to live with a lowered car and LTs and it was not much fun.
Trying to jump up in the seat when you see a low spot or anything that looks remotely high gets old. Especially cause it doesn,t work and you get to hear that nasty scrape or worse a chunk sound.

Several people run long tubes in addition to a lowered suspension. I am sure you will be able to get away with it, but you are going to have to be very conscience of your surroundings or those headers and y-pipe will be scraped up in no time.
