I have noticed that when I make a sharp turn left in my car that the left brake or rotor squells. Does anyone know what could be causing this?

brake/rotor squeel when turning leftGOTPLZ2 09-13-2005, 02:21 PM I have noticed that when I make a sharp turn left in my car that the left brake or rotor squells. Does anyone know what could be causing this? Z28barnett 09-13-2005, 02:35 PM My car does this since I put new rotors on the rear. The rotor is very likely rubbing on the caliper bracket. One way to test is take the same turn with light brake pressure. If the noise goes away you have found the problem. The axle floats out and takes the rotor into the caliper bracket. When you lightly apply the brakes the pressure centers everything and the noise stops. There is a shim that can be used or you can grind down the bracket where it is rubbing. I haven't fixed mine yet, the nosie have been getting fainter, I imagine the rotor is rubbing a path into the caliper bracket. If you search under rear brake shim you will find more info. Does anyone have a current link that shows how to install these shims and where to purchase them at? | ||
