LCAs

How are aftermarket lower control arms better than the factory ones and where are they beneficial more, at the 1/4-mile track or autocrossing?

I'm thinking of getting a set, but I want to hear opinions from others who have them and what they think.

I find Sam Strano to be a very valuable source of info for suspension related issues. Ask them at: http://www.stranoparts.com/index.php He'll likely tell you they aren't worth while. He's very honest and he will not sell you parts you don't need unless you insist.

I picked up a tubular set used for $50. The reason I bought them was because I was told it would help or eliminate the terrible wheel hop I had under hard acceleration and give me added traction. Being only $50 I figured it was a good way to try something and not be deep in the hole if it didnt work. Well it did, I no longer have wheel hop issues and it actually helped my traction. Wheel hop is not good for your car, it shocks alot of the components in your drivetrain which can break the weak links. I think it was well worth $50, $120 might be questionable, but it depends how bad you want some extra traction and stop wheel hop.

If you line up a pair of aftermarket tubular or boxed LCAs against the weak, stamped factory LCAs, you will see the difference big time.

oh yeah! My Hotchkis LCA's are huge compared to the stockers. I haven't had the chance to get it out to the track to see if there is a noted difference but if feels alot better.
