bluelt1z28 09-08-2005, 05:33 PM I called mufflex and they said that their intake tube fits f-body with the procharger D1 supercharger. My question is if the inlet is on the same position on the D1 And the P1SC? Has any body used this tube on a P1SC? By the way I have the Twin high flow intercoolers.
97TA-WS6-Con 09-08-2005, 09:31 PM I'd like to know more about the mufflex intake tube. Any links

Alvin@pcmforless.com 09-08-2005, 10:30 PM I wish they woudl make somethign for t trim cars.. I'm having a hell of a time keeping the silicone boot over my inlet. When you tighten it it slips off because its the supplied plastic elbow is much smaller than the blowers inlet and that puts the silicone couple in a cone shape.
Randy Molkentine 09-09-2005, 12:20 PM Sorry I dont know the answer..but could you tell me how much the mufflex piece is?
mzgp5x 09-11-2005, 10:51 AM Those mufflex intake tubes look very good, but, what about the tube to the ATI intake? I made my own from 4" steel pipe conneting to the ATI. That last turn to the ATI on a fourth gen is very difficult. I can't make anything as good looking as mufflex though.
bluelt1z28 09-14-2005, 11:46 PM Does anyone who has a D1, have a pic of their intake tube?
flusz28 09-15-2005, 08:51 AM will that intake tube work on my z28 with my s-trim?
Pampered-Z 09-19-2005, 12:31 PM I called ATI, the inlet is the same location and size ( 3.75" ) for the NONE- R models. ie, the D1R has a 4" inlet. So the inlet for the P600B, P1SC, D1 and F1 should all fit the same.
I'm not too far from Mufflex, I took the car there to have their exhaust installed, and then to have Dennis make all my tubing to do the front mounted intercooler ( ATI 3 core intercooler). But at the time we did this I didn't do the intake tubing.
If there is enough interest I can call Dennis and if needed see if we can use my car as a ginnie pig. :D
John
Sparkz28ss 09-19-2005, 02:52 PM I will buy one...I have a p600b.
I hated the orange tube and I dont care much for this powerdyne inlet thing...its tiny.I want a nice hard pipe.I dont care if it cost $200.
flusz28 09-19-2005, 08:11 PM what bout for my vortech s-trim? would it fit?

I called Mufflex about the intake tube and they said they stopped production on them and it would cost about 400 to fabricate on aaand I would have to bring my car there.
So if those will fit the P1SC and the price is right I have money in hand. If you could research that since your closer I think alot of people would buy these.
My intake track looks like sanford and son and is prone to colapsing.
ramair96ws6 09-25-2005, 07:34 PM $400!!!!! is this thing gold?
Jeff 96 SS 09-26-2005, 08:22 PM My car was the guinee pig for the first one I may sell it soon as I'm relocating my inercooler and it doesn't look like its gonna work with my new piping. I'll let you know in a couple weeks when I'm done with my new pipes.

We would be interested in fabbing such a tube but a donor car will be
needed, Please put the word out for any takers

Randy Molkentine 09-28-2005, 11:26 AM I just got an email from Denny saying the part is $240 for Lt1 cars with the D1 and never said it wasn't available.
ramair96ws6 09-28-2005, 10:50 PM HMMM WTF is that about
97WS6Pilot 09-28-2005, 10:56 PM HMMM WTF is that about
I just got the same email. I think due to the interest on this site he's come to a more reasonable price. When I called the first time it was $400 and he didn't have any. It would need to be fabbed in house. I still don't think he has one laying around for sale.
Sparkz28ss 09-28-2005, 11:00 PM I will buy one.......whenever they have one.
Randy Molkentine 09-29-2005, 09:53 PM For $240 I am in. Maybe a GP with all the interest here? I wonder when they will be available?

Ponyhntr 10-28-2005, 02:35 PM Guys-
I heard from a reliable source that ATI is comming out with a new style inlet system for the LT1 F-body. It's supposed to be a molded plastic piece that is said to be pretty nice. Supposed to be available in about 3-4 weeks! ;)

I doubt that it would work, as the inlet to the ATI blowers is 3.75" and the S-trim is 3.50" in diameter. You wouldn't be able to clamp it on without some sort of modification.
bluelt1z28 11-15-2005, 05:18 PM I called ATI about the new intake tube and they dont know anything about it. Does anyone have any updates on the mufflex tube?

When did you call? You must not have talked to the right person...because it is available....I have it!
:D ;)
Edit: BTW, if anyone can host them, I have a set of diagrams that ATI e-mailed me.

Talk to any of the guys in Tech Service. They should be able to help you out. I don't know how much it cost, because they used my car to do some 'beta' testing on. I got a hella deal! ;) :D

blown383 11-16-2005, 03:01 PM How much is it? They should have designed it with a solid plastic or metal intake from the very begining! Not only that but from the diagrams they have changed the way the tubing is routed from the driver's side intercooler to where the other intercooler piping merges and goes into the intake.

Actually, the tubing is all different from the surge tube all the way to the TB. Fits MUCH better I might add! :thumb:
bluelt1z28 11-16-2005, 05:05 PM I talked to Dave in tech today and he said The kit costs $151 and it includes a new filter. They are currently missing one part to complete the kit, but it will be in next week. I ordered the kit and should get it sometime next week. I noticed that they moved the maf to the pressure side on the diagram.
blown383 11-16-2005, 05:30 PM $151 isn't bad at all! Now if I purchase this kit it eliminates the orange dryer hose. This kit is getting expensive... first there is the SDCE tensioner kit @ $500, ATI damper $400, duel keyed hub $100, etc.... Is the SDCE kit neccisary?
-B
bluelt1z28 11-16-2005, 07:21 PM I just got a call back from ATI and they said that they forgot to add some parts to their earlier quote and it will cost $219 for the kit.
blown383 11-17-2005, 01:43 AM Ask them if they're willing to do a GP and what extra parts did they add that'll cost $70?
-B
One more interested! Any more pics available? That schematic is great! Do you think the elbow between the "new" molded intake and the air filter would collapse? sweet:bow:
ZBLKHELLRZR 11-17-2005, 08:35 PM I'm OK w/ a GP too! Do you know if they'll sell the polished version as well? Wonder if they'll attached the flange for the BPV as well in the location you want. Either way I'm in if we get one started if not I'll buy outright regardless. :D

Guy's, I highly doubt ATI will do a GP, but a dealer like Lonnie or Combination (sponsors on this board) might be able to do something.
As for the polishing, the elbow to the TB would most likely be able to be polished (it's cast aluminum), but the rest of it wouldn't be, as its made up of various rubber, plastic, and (powdercoated) steel pieces. Also, the bung for the bypass is only offered in one place, as it's mass-produced, and would cost too much to make custom pieces for anyone that wants it differently.

So w/ the schematic out there that bpv is down at the bottm pipe between the two IC's then right? Hell I'm still with a GP. I'll shoot a email to Combination and see what they say. I've got a few things to buy from them anyways, I can kill 5 birds w/ 1 stone. ;)

The bypass is off of the short tube going to the right (passenger) intercooler. It's actually in the diagram.

Im here in Vegas if they can make something happen..... Im really just interested in the intake half but I'd take the whole kit if it increases my ground clearance:D
Ponyhntr 11-23-2005, 04:11 PM Guys, I just found out from ATI a few prices for the upgrade.
If you want to JUST upgrade the air inlet side of things, it's $204 plus shipping.
If you have a 2 core intercooler, and want to upgrade that side as well, that stuff is $204 plus shipping. (This price includes ALL the intercooler tubing)
guess I need need to call ATI and see what the price is for just the inlet. I can have the rest of the intake side fabbed up here. $200 seems a bit steep for just one side but Im happy they came out with a better solution four our cars.
blown383 12-02-2005, 04:05 AM Anyone order the upgrades yet? I'm curious to see how they fit?

Hey blown383 where in Los Angeles are you, May be you can come check it out in Culver City Area.
NiteRyda 12-02-2005, 10:50 AM I received my kit yesterday and was missing the 3-1/2" 45* elbow that comes of the 90* Rubber elbow. but other than that the kit will seem to do the trick that i have been lookin for.
blown383 12-02-2005, 11:40 AM I'm in Montebello... so about 20-30 minutes from Culver city... however I work in Downtown so thats even closer. Let me know when you install it so I can take a look at it. I'm debating wether or not to send my D1 bracket out to SDCE for the tensioner before ordering the updated ATI kit.

I grew up in culver city, went to school there, left, came back, somehow wound up in Las Vegas  Not sure if the kits the way to go for me now but would love to see some pics.
TravProcharged94Z 12-07-2005, 10:11 PM Anyone get the new intake tube from procharger installed? Is it actually a hard intake pipe?
NiteRyda 12-08-2005, 09:22 AM Yes it's a hard plastic intake that goes over the intake inlet and u clamp it down.
