Header Install guide?black02z28 09-07-2005, 10:41 AM How difficult is it to install LT headers on a 02 Z are there any sites for step by step instuctions and also can I reinstall my stock cats? SSpdDmon 09-07-2005, 10:49 AM Check teke's site. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/243722/11 teke184 09-07-2005, 10:51 AM as i posted in the other thread link (http://www.cardomain.com/ride/243722/11) the install is pretty easy, just time consuming. 10hrs, by myself from start to start up. i listed some tricks on my site to help out. as for the cats, not sure you'd want to. even if you did you would need to have them custom welded up. not to mention most LTs are 3" collectors, and stock cats are 2.5" i think. you'd be better off buying hi-flow cats with 3" tubing. black02z28 09-07-2005, 10:57 AM Can I use ramps to drive up on or is it not high enough, and also what are good high flow cats, but I may go with TSP True Duals instead would cats hook up to those? teke184 09-07-2005, 11:49 AM damn SS you beat me to it while i was typing  ramps may be high enough...but i doubt it. it REALLY needs to be high like i said stock cats are smaller than the collector on the headers. yes they could be re-used, but a custom fabricated Ypipe or set of true duals would need to be used. TSP true duals are 3" pipes, so to use stock cats you'd be restricting the pipe down to 2.5" before entering the duals...not very efficient. check ebay for cats, i think magnaflow makes some good inexpensive ones. why are you worried about cats? emissions? if at all possible...get rid of them just looked up cats in my Jegs catalog. magnaflow has some for $110 and dynatech has some for $150 black02z28 09-07-2005, 12:01 PM Yes here in massachusetts they are very strict so I'm looking for the best LTs and true dual setup and highest flowing cats so your saying the aftermarket cats will fit on the tsp dual setup, and also I won't throw any codes by putting LTs in right? teke184 09-07-2005, 12:15 PM if everything is done properly, and everything is hooked up right...you shouldn't throw codes. although altering the car's design affords you no guarantees. not sure where the cats would fit best on the TSP duals. you'd have to ask them. i know right behind the driverside collector on my Flowtech LTs there is some frame clearance issues, so i don't think you could fit the cats immediately off the collector. but splicing them in the true duals slightly farther back shouldn't be a problem. i would call or PM trevor at TSP and see what he says. | ||
