This is not so funny story and I wish to god I had a video camera:

Again in Houston (Only city I have lived in where we street raced regularly). I was working late shift at UPS (Trying to get some Extra Christmas Dough). I had just finished putting my engine in my formula. A friend needed a ride home, so i took him. He had me drop me off at his friends house. In the front yard was a 96 Z-28, and his friend was on the porch, well he yelled out he wanted to race me, and my instinct was not to cause I needed to break it in a little more.....but at same time I wanted to test it against an LT-1. Anyways we decide to go, so my work buddy gets in my car and the other guys gets a passenger and we head off. We go down this road near his house and he shows me where the finish line will be, we go down to end and turn around. He gives me the move, so I take off....I jump out several car lengths and just pulled him the whole way, I passed where I thought I remembered him saying was the finish line and I let off. I look behined me and he isnt letting off, so i turned ot nmy firend and said if he opassess me will he say he won even though we passed the finish....he said yes......here comes the worse part......

I get back on it and just as he pulls up to my bumper I start pulling him again, I look ahead and see a 90 degree turn (no I did not remember this when we first went down this road) I instantly hit the breaks and start downing the gears, I look behind me and all I see is headlights going side to side....yep u guessed it, he downed into 2nd gear at over 100 mph by accident and starting to fish tail, I got out of his way right as he came by me still fish tailing. I come to a complete stop and watch him....to his credit he was driving the car good trying to straighten it out. He finally decides to stop trying to brake and punch it to straighten the car, he takes back off and he straightens out....still doing about 80-90 he is headed right through and intersection.....guess what......it is a "T" Intersection.........he tired to turn 90 degrees basically but of course came no where close to making it.....he hits the curb and a little inbankment which sends him airbourne....he goes right through a fence, and hits a mobile home (this was a construction site so it was one of those little office trailer thingy's). I at that point took off to go see if they were dead or w/e...i thought for sure it was over for them. I get to the trailer and when the dust settles down I see tail lights driving off, they went completely through the corner of this trailer...drove down the road and came back, he didnt even stop, just drove to his house....to explain the damage of his car (totalled) watch NASCAR and watch one of them hit the wall at over 100 mph and watch them drive the turn up car to the pits.....it was like that.....front left titre was not runing all tires were flat, body fiberglass peeled like a sardin can....it was amazing they were not hurt. End of the story....we get to his house and he gives me a smile and just like Fast and the Furious..."Dude I almost had you"......lol Wish I had a camera, but I still picture it in my head like it happened yesterday.

For the record....i won.......lol

I assume this kid had raced on this road before. So what was his excuse for going that fast when he knew there was a T intersection right in front of him?? BTW Good kill :)

So the guy wasn't too upset about the condition of his car? I'm confused......

Let this be lesson to some of you folks, he had had a few drinks while sitting at his house prior to me arriving....I did not know that. As for being upset...he was a little upset (not as upset as I would have been), then told me he wiould have a new car within a few days cause his parents were loaded. I talked to my friend from UPS and sure enough dude had a new car again and his old car was still sitting in his back yard. Could you imagine the construction workers coming to work Monday morning and seeing their trailer jacked up? Must be nice to have money where you do not have to car how bad you mess your ride up.

I guess the only way he'll ever learn is when he ends up in the hospital. Sad but True.

Yeah, I miss mine too. Not to long after this race I had a guy put NOS on the car for me, while I was in CA opening up a new office. While I was gone he got fired from our job and packed up shop and was no where to be found, as well as my car. Two months later I returned back, we found my car on north side of Houston....stripped. Engine, tranny everything of value gone. I spent almost 5 years restoring that car, after buying it out of someones driveway...when it wasnt even running. All gone in blink of an eye. Anyways never found the guy, and I just now got a thrid gen back. I have a 1991 TA that I am fixing up now and I tell you....it is fun to be doing this again. I will get to tell some fresh Kill stories soon. It is getting the 700r4 built up right now (2500stall, corvette servo, shift kit, Khano clutches, tranny cooler), and soon will have a 450hp crate mnotor dropped in it....after I get the tranny and ythe rerarend ready for the power. Putting dana44 3.73 in it after I get it back from the tranny shop. After drivetrain is ready.,...then off to paint shop.....lol

Can't wait to get it all done.
