First off, I'm a newby in the world of mobile audio, or any audio for that matter. I know some of the most basic information, but it stops there. From what I've been readin on this forum, we've got some thump gods who really know what they're talking about. So hopefully you can provide some assistance on these questions.
1.I plan on purchasing the t-top box from subthump.com for my 97 trans am. I'm going with the One 12" setup for the Kicker Solo Baric L7. How many watts would you recommend pushing this badboy with optimum power and durability in mind(L7 rated 75-750watts RMS (375 per coil)? I was also looking at the alpine mrd 1005 (1000 watts RMS x1 at 2 Ohms). Can this sub handle that much wattage, or should I shoot for an 800 watt mono amp? I plan on getting one dual 2ohm L7, to be compatible with the mono amps (correct?)
2.Would it be preferable if I ported the box(2.2feet3), because I'm pretty sure it only comes sealed.
Thanks in advance for the help.

it really depends on what mono amp you intend on getting some are only stable to 2 ohms where otehrs to 1 ohm... honestly find ur amp first then decide on sub voice coil config... personally i like phonexic gold amps i find them to be less costly then alpines and mtx and i find them to perform just as well

I'm going to get the Alpine MRD-M1005 (1000 watts RMS X 1 at 2 ohms) to push the single kicker solo baric L7

So then you want a dual 4 ohm sub so you can wire it to a 2 ohm load on your amp but watch your gains you have lots of excess power so be careful
