Order of detailing

I am going to detail my car tomorrow and try and get some life back into the paint, and get rid of some scratches. Also, I am missing some clear coat on my hood, and the spot just seems to get bigger and bigger. Any ideas on whawt to do here? Here is what order I am thinking, but please correct me if I can do better.
1. Wash
2. Swirl Remover
3. Polish
4. Wax

You may have some considerable issues with the clearcoat chip spots. I would recommend that you use your items in the order that you have them. The only thing that I would suggest, however, is to add a good paint cleaning polish before the swirl remover. The paint clean is a very important step in doing any moderate paint polishing routine.

If you intend on keeping the car and improving the looks, eventually that may lead you into repairing the c.c. spotting. I haven't seen the issue, but speak to a couple of professional painters or body shops. They may likely say that the area will need to be repainted and/or re-cleared, but at least you will know what will need to be done.

Hey thanks for the reply. I think I will try the pain cleaning polish too. Who do you reccomend for brands besides Zaino. I have heard some good things about the Meguires 3 step system. Would that work? Thanks.

I would recommend either Meguiars or Mother's 3 step system for their ease of application.

You may, if you want to take things a step higher, research into picking up a more powerful carnauba, along the lines of p21s, pinnacle or one of the meg's numbered waxes. It will give your paint more intensity, depth of shine, and longer lasting protection.

The Mother's or Meg's 3 step products are of good quality, so you won't go wrong either way.

I would recomend P21s, but you can find S100 at the local harley shop and its the same. I also find Mothers products superior to Megs at least when it comes to waxes. Mothers has a new product called Reflections Top Coat that you can use on top of whatever you use as a last step to increase depth. It has no cleaners so you can layer it.

Ok guys, I got done with my detailing today! Here is what I did.
1.Oil Change (I know, not related)
2.Replaced Headlight
3.Wash
4.Paint Cleaner
5.Swirl Remover
6.Wash
7.Wax

This was my first time ever waxing my car, and using a buffer. It turned out pretty good I think. The paint has deeper shine, and most of the swirls and fine scratches are gone! Thanks for all the help guys!
