question bout stock bose speakers??flusz28 09-05-2005, 02:32 PM i have wondered this for years when i installed a pioneer mosfet cd player in my car. why the stock bose speaker cut out and sound raspy when the volume gets turned up alittle bit. i don't mean very loud either... i don;t drive the car often so thats why i haven't asked and speaker shops nor would i let any of them touch my car. I don't know what the best way of handling this is, but the previous owner of my 94Z28 used an AudioLink PowerLink II in front of an aftermarket amplifier (which he removed with he sold me the car). I've since removed it and gone back to a stock Bose subwoofer, but my OEM radio/CD player sux. I'm probably going to rip out all of the Bose components and go with aftermarket pieces instead. kick Z tail out 09-05-2005, 04:05 PM ah i will live with it then. thanks Why? Just replace them with something decent. 2 pairs of coax 6.5"s can be as cheap as $140 depending on what you get, and even the bargain speakers like that will sound better than what you've got. You know the Bose setup in your car consists of only 3 speakers, right?
