There were some turbo honda's running 15's while the owners were hoping to get into the 14's. Another guy posted he ran a 16.1 but with nitrous he is expecting 14's :rolleyes:

John M 09-05-2005, 02:32 PM My brother and I were at the track once and we were in the staging lanes next to a Prelude and a Civic. My brother (94 Supra) happened to line up with the Civic. The Honda guys peeked in his car and were thrilled that "Hey, it's only an automatic." They then swapped places so it'd be the Supra vs. the Prelude "because the Prelude had run 15s earlier and he'll probably get 14s on this run."
All they cared about was that the Supra was an auto and therefore an easy target. They ignored the other obvious signs like a FMIC and the 295-width Bridgestone Pole Position tires out back. It was also packing a single turbo, a Precision Industries converter, and a built tranny. Yep, it's "just an auto."
Of course they felt really stupid when they finally did run. The car did 11s at 122+ mph at 18-19 psi on pump. We never did wring it out at the 27 psi / race gas I designed it for.
And FWIW, my family sedan broke into the 13s with a $20 boost controller :D

Farfignuten 09-05-2005, 03:39 PM I remember when I went to the track and I ran against an acura rsx-s that had headers and intake. I ran 13.9 to his 15.1. When we got back, he came up to me and needless to say that he was shocked. He said, " But it's only an automatic, I thought for sure that I could beat it." Then he told me that he had a friend that had a M6 LT1 camaro that ran 15's. So I just told him that either his friend can't drive or something is messed up with that car.

I thought he was talking about 1/8. Turns out he said he went to the local 1/4 mile and would have done better if not for the weather. I asked if he wanted to line up but "I made a custom wastegate and I think its broken" :bs:
Patrick kelly 09-06-2005, 04:19 PM sounds like the 444hp saleen that was supposed to race my galant this year... guy had the base model saleen (290 hp for the year), but stated he had 444hp (extreem model #'s for the year)... i gave his girl a copy of 3 time slips (11's @ 120+), and this was a week after he went to the track and ran the 14's and 15's i told his girl the car was going to run... he said he won't race me now, so i told her he can bring the winter beater over... she looked @ me like w.t.f.? is this guy talking about... i told her that her man said he wanted to race for pinkslips and he needed a good winter beater and would use my galant as one, so seeing how he's not going to race his turd saleen, i'd make his saleen MY winter car as it's the slower of the 2 cars... she didn't like that idea... i wish i had the balls to wave the :bs: flag when i know people are talking it, guess i'll have to settle with seeing him @ business get-to-gethers, and ask him when he's ready to race... lol...
GT KILLER 09-06-2005, 04:26 PM 16.1 I cant remember all the detail's as it was a year or so ago looking for mid 15's with ny JDM D15B and LSD tranny.I will more than likely get a 75 shot wet kit before to long for track use only.Looking for 14.4 to 14.7's with that.

you cant laugh too much. the 305 tbi 3rd gens run 17s stock if they are running good. most of those guys spray their way out of the 15s...

honestly i could really care less. ill go to whatever side offers what i want. period. but for a while now i really havent cared enough to start sh*t on here talking down the entire car line. i WILL point out things that shouldnt be a problem with fbodies (namely overall quality). but to each their own i guess.

If you don't care then why get your panties all in a bunch when someone talks **** about imports? You know you are on a F-body site and you know that a majority of the people here don't like imports. So why continue posting the same ole ****, following your buddy gotboost around, trying to defend imports in every other thread?

Who said you are breaking the rules? I sure didn't. My original question was why you feel the people here are less of a man talking **** about imports but yet you do the EXACT SAME THING but worse by talking **** about the cars this site is based upon.
I actually find it pretty humorous how you get alll butt hurt when someone here talks bad about imports and you come in, usually right behind gotboost, and feel the need to defend them.

myslowcamaro 09-07-2005, 07:41 PM the only trump card the imports have (imports not japanese) is the mclaren f-1 and some german car koenssig something being the fastest production cars in the world. 241mph vs the f-1's 240. not bad at all for an import, now do you have 1.3 million dollars for it? i believe lingenfelter has the fastest north american production car, twin turbo corvette for $137,000 doing 227mph.
next section of car wars, whats the fastest import in the world in general? 1/4 or bonneville flats. gas or alcohol powered only, no jet trucks (shockwave's 36,000hp :bow: ) i think domestics will beat any foreign car in this area. 407mph 3.17 1/4 (top fuel, ford, chevy, dodge) what import can run that?

nope. which is why ive never said anything to the contrary. im looking at a friends car tho if the tranny goes out thinking i might be able to get it cheap. if i can then i will. if not then oh well.

i'm pretty sure the civic has the single largest aftermarket following of any car ever made, barring none.
doesn't mean that 90% of it isn't just bolton spoilers and body kits. Take away all the useless crap and it's got just about the same aftermarket as everything else. They're just more popular for some unknown reason.

The Mustang has the largest aftermarket, PERIOD!!! If you doubt it maybe you should pick up some of the 4-5 Mustang mags and looks at what is available. I doubt the Civic has dozens of intakes, dozens of heads, cams etc like the Mustang.

What about Jeeps...
Most of the stock hondas and toyotas and basic imports are slow.See them at local tracks. The faster ones or ones with potential are the factory turbo cars..and especially the awd turbo cars. Traction and power potential. Easy to get the turbo cars into huge power range 500 ,600 even beyond with aftermarket turbos but still not that cheap to do it. Needs a lot of support mods.And tuning. And sometimes race fuel to get the big numbers.
Nitrous of course helps any car and the lighter the car the more it helps. Some of these imports are very light.
I respect any fast car but lots of these cars are wannabes with stickers,ground effects and altezzas dropped to the ground and slow as slugs.
I enjoy smoking the usual slow hondas and such with any of my cars.
Also to mean it don't really mean much if some civic blows my doors off its still a civic and this is doubly true for ugly four door cars.They can be fast as heck but don't much care. Rather have a nice looking slower car than a fast four door. I can't understand why subaru don't offer the wrx or sts in two door form again and why dodge didn't offer the srt 4 in two door.
Heck even the new charger has gone 4 door..whats with that?
Anyway big power adders are usually needed to make any of these imports fast. But some like the awd wrx and sti and the dsm turbo cars,the supra twin turbo,maza twin turbo rx7,datsun twin turbo and new g35 and 350z and stuff are pretty quick stock and easy to mod up.
I love my dsm to death. Its my second one. I expect to be around 600 hp engine with it come spring time with big aftermarket turbo and support mods.
