Has anyone tried putting like an outside dryer vent scoop on each IC? A scoop that would force air over the ICs. Would there be a down side to this? Does anyone have pics?

My installation should be done this morning and in fact I was just doing a bit of reading on this forum before I headed back to the shop. First thing, if you have the lowering springs on your Camaro, you cannot use the twin high flows. They will hang too low. Procharger told me this themselves. My single IC came with that scoop to push air over the IC that you are talking about and we found that the scoop might hang too low. My car is NOT lowered and it will still hit speed bumps with that scoop installed. The problem is, if that scoop hits something it will rip the entire intercooler off which is obviously very bad. So we installed the IC with longer bolts. This Wednesday (most likely) we will be going to the track in Palmdale and doing a few runs with the scoop on, and a few runs without it and comparing the times. I'll let you know what I find out! You could make some out of aluminum and weld them on, that would probably work well, and you could make them any size you wanted. | ||
