We've got a Podcast now :) Jason and I have been kicking around this idea for some time now to do a Podcast for CamaroZ28.COM. It's finally coming together, and we finished up show #1 this week.

Here it is:

CamaroZ28.COM Podcast Show #1 (http://www.camaroz28.com/podcast/cz28pc1.mp3)

Tell us what you think of the show. There will be many more to come, hopefully 1 show a week. Syndication with RSS feeds are coming soon as well as the availability of this Podcast through the Itunes music store.

Enjoy!

whats a podcast?

Definition taken from Wikipedia.com:

Podcasting is a method of publishing audio broadcasts via the Internet, allowing users to subscribe to a feed of new files (usually MP3s). It became popular in late 2004, largely due to automatic downloading of audio onto portable players or personal computers.

Podcasting is very distinct from other types of online media delivery because of its subscription model, which uses a feed (such as RSS or Atom) to deliver an enclosed file. Podcasting enables independent producers to create self-published, syndicated "radio shows," and gives broadcast radio programs a new distribution method. Listeners may subscribe to feeds using "podcatching" software (a type of aggregator), which periodically checks for and downloads new content automatically. Some podcatching software is also able to synchronise (copy) podcasts to portable music players. Any digital audio player or computer with audio-playing software can play podcasts. The same technique can deliver video files, and by 2005 some aggregators could play video as well as audio.

:cz28: but podcasting...:(

Podcasting is only a term for the way the media is presented and distributed. Once again, from the Wiki entry:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Podcast

"Podcasting" is a portmanteau word that combines the words "broadcasting" and "iPod." The term can be misleading since neither podcasting nor listening to podcasts requires an iPod or any portable music player. For that reason, various writers have suggested reinterpreting the letters POD to create "backronyms" such as "Personal On-Demand."[1] The term "Radio Me" was coined by Peter Day of the BBC for the same reason.

So, podcasting has nothing to do directly with iPods, and we have ZERO affiliation with Apple or their products. It is only because when Podcasts started being made, they were directed to the iPod market. But now that it has gained a pretty decent momentum, it is not just for people with iPods (I don't even have one myself).

It is in MP3 format, so anyone with a device that can play MP3 files can listen in.

So, don't let the name fool you, listen in and tell us what you think!

You guys sound NOTHING like what you look like.

I was expecting Freddie Mercury and the fast food guy from The Simpsons. You guys don't get 94 octane at sea level? Weird.

Seriously guys, you just invited some college kids to fake this.

Heehee...there is an extensive interview with us on the CamaroZ28.Com Nationals DVD (if you were lucky enough to get one of the 100 that were made). If you have it, watch it so you can place a face with the voice.

We should interview Billy Idol. Perhaps we might have a "celeb" of sorts in an upcoming podcast? Maybe someone close to our hobby? We'll see...

Do you guys need any edgy sound clips for the Podcast? If so, drop me a line.

Nah you guys sounded pretty damn good, almost like you've done it before and you knew what you were doing. Casual, yet not too casual, and maintained a professional tone at the same time.
