Stage 1 and stage 2 supercharger kits from GM soon.Z284ever 08-30-2005, 09:12 AM http://www.autoweek.com/news.cms?newsId=103095 Z28x 08-30-2005, 09:31 AM Thats what I like to see. Factory performance parts that don't void the warranty. I hope the Camaro and next GTO get the same treatment. slt 08-30-2005, 10:31 AM hallelujia! Ask and you shall recieve. I hope these also apply to the IRL. Davvy 08-30-2005, 10:33 AM Imagine what they could do with a turbo.... uluz28 08-30-2005, 10:51 AM hallelujia! Ask and you shall recieve. I hope these also apply to the IRL. yessir... But if you really want something to get charged up about, stand by for Stage 1 and Stage 2 upgrades for the SS Supercharged (and Saturn Ion Red Line) due in early 2006. slt 08-30-2005, 11:17 AM sweet, maybe this will help with the resale value, too. The dealers around here will reluctantly give you $12K for a <1 year old IRL. My hope is to either make the IRL a fun car to drive, or have the resale improve somewhat so I can trade it in for a Sky Redline in a year Evilfrog 08-30-2005, 11:44 AM Awesome. Depending on price i might have this done intime for next track season. falchulk 08-30-2005, 12:04 PM sweet, maybe this will help with the resale value, too. A used SRT4 goes for almost the same price as a brand new one. Threxx 08-30-2005, 12:15 PM 246hp and 240 tq for how much $$? I thought the SRT-4 had something like a 300hp Stage 3? 246hp still just doesn't seem like enough for a car of that weight to make it that great of a performer, especially if the total sticker price is approaching 30 grand. But y'all say the base engine is underrated as is, so if that's the case, I'm sure these stage 1 and stage 2 are just as underrated. slt 08-30-2005, 12:21 PM Really??? 12k?? Thats insane. A used SRT4 goes for almost the same price as a brand new one. Yeah, it sucks. My g/f totalled out her GTI and needed a new car asap. We didn't really have time to do much research and picked up the redline. Its a great little car, but up untill now, the aftermarket has been nonexistent and the resale is pretty low. It looks like brighter times are ahead for it, though. Evilfrog 08-30-2005, 12:25 PM 246hp and 240 tq for how much $$? So ill skip that. Ill be taking the car to the track tonight for the first time Depending on how the weather holds out. Jason E 08-30-2005, 12:58 PM Really??? 12k?? Thats insane. A used SRT4 goes for almost the same price as a brand new one. New SRT-4s run $22-24k roughly. I've seen '03 SRT-4s as low as $13,900 with around 40k miles on them. Typically, I've seen '03-'04 models with decent miles for $15k or so. Not quite the same price as new...at least around here. falchulk 08-30-2005, 01:50 PM New SRT-4s run $22-24k roughly. I was actually shocked at how they retained their value. 90 Z28SS 08-30-2005, 05:46 PM FINALLY !!!! :) Threxx - a typical Cobalt SS or RL is already packin close to 246 hp at the crank . They have to base power gains of the stock rated #'s . For stage 2 , add 20% to the average 215 hp at the wheels . That makes me happy :D The low rpm torque is needed sooo bad , the transition at 4K rpms is like hitting a nitrous button . 2000GTP 08-30-2005, 05:58 PM A gain of 41 hp for the stage 2 kit doesn't seem like much, but I guess that all depends on the price of the system. The nice factor is that you can add ponies and still stay in the confines of the factory warranty, but on a different token, I'm sure the aftermarket already has devised many better performance enhancing goodies for these cars for lesser cost. For my supercharged Grand Prix that I use as a daily driver, there is already endless stuff that I can stick on there and alot of competing companies to gain a share of the market. But anyways, props to GM for adding another level of excitement to these cars. Evilfrog 08-30-2005, 11:56 PM Got traction? I dont. First run 60' 2.586 330 7.143 1/8 10.532 MPH 72.44 1000 13.424 1/4 15.834 MPH 94.07 Last run 60' 2.297 330 6.530 1/8 9.847 MPH 73.60 1000 12.701 1/4 15.086 MPH 95.00 I made 4 runs each with different launchs. Honestly I feel the car has a 14.7 in her if i put in another 5 or 6 runs but ran out of time. Stage 2 should put the car high 13s low 14s. But hey, thats just bench racing. Right now I have a 15 second car. unvc92camarors 08-31-2005, 01:06 PM Got traction? I dont.
