doing some research on how to do my own head porting.
nothing crazy but i'd like to clean up a pair of stock LS1 heads.
is this a good book? (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0879385472/qid=1125276756/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i1_xgl14/002-1851448-4096041?v=glance&s=books&n=507846)

I know I can't wait to read the vizzard cylinder head book. His others taught me SO much. This isn't an LS1 specific book (I know you're aware of this), so the information you learn will have to be digested and then applied to the GenIII heads. With this being the case there is a bunch of GenI head info on the net that you could read. I'd still get the book though.
This is something I plan to do one day myself- port LS1 heads. I just learned the EXACT reason why you don't polish intake runners last week in fluids class. I heard other people's arguments, but finally learned the specifics for myself.
Good luck with the head porting.
