I still say that car is lucky to be making 330 rwhp...maybe.

Hehehe - Canton tunes and dyno's those cars very frequently as a 2nd job.

A 430 rwhp Mach 1 is capable of 120 mph traps...and that car in the video is not a car that goes 120 mph in the 1/4...that thing was a not moving out at all...hence...maybe it is making 330 rwhp and there was a typo.

A mach 1 with a blower that makes 330 rwhp? Yah, OK, sounds about right

Use your noodle...a Mach 1 making 430 rwhp would not get spanked like that car did against that LS1.

It ran like a car making 330 rhwp racing that calibar of LS1.

lets break this down shall we? ;)

how much power is that ls1 making?

Did the mach have a blower or not? If not ok.
Didnt really look like it to me. If so the ls1 would need 500+ rwhp to put the smackdown on him like that.
anyway who cares?

Did you watch the last race?

It was a good beating but not a complete a** kicking (IMO at least). Of course, it might not be making 430rwhp but I guarantee it would take a lot more than 330rwhp to hang within a couple car-lengths for 5-6 sec against a bolt-on + 150 shot LS1.

You also gotta remember that hitting the juice is an instant 150 hp. There's no waiting for a blower to spin up to full boost....so by the time the mach reached his peak hp, the LS1 was already gone. That's why I love NOS....

Believe want you want.

But heh, maybe the Mach 1 guy was in 4th gear from that 20 mph roll...because with a 5 speed and a 4.30 gear, from a 20 mph in 1rst gear, he would be right in his boost.

Jeez...never had a supercharged vehicle...or ever ran nitrous...never seen them run before at the track...never seen them run on a dyno...so what do I know. That is right...I am an internet bench racer...hmm...let me take my video of my Z28 running 11.8's...edit it...for credits put MODS...Flowmaster muffler...and since some ignorant tard out there will see the movie and see that is all I am putting as mods...it must be true...I mean, why would I or anyone else for matter...lie or embelish something.

That last race was a slaughter...maybe your delusional and when guys put 10 car lengths on you see only 2...hence why I said that Mach 1 is not making 430 rwhp.

Not that my post was directed at you, but I think you're missing my point. Regardless of speed, gear, or rear end ratio, a supercharger will always have to spin up to some degree to make full boost. So while the mach may have dyno'd a peak of 430 rwhp in 4th gear under full load - in the lower gears, it's powerband simply won't be comparable to an LS1 that's getting a bonafide 150 hp bump throughout it's entire rpm band in every gear. We're talking about 2 cars that have very similar hp stock. Both cars have power adders. One adds an instant 150 hp throughout the entire powerband (above 3k rpms of course) and the other delivers it's hp gradually and proportionatally to the rpms, peaking at around 5k rpms (guessing here, don't know mustangs). Which car do you think will have more area under the curve? It's not even a contest. What's more important in racing, area under the curve or peak hp? If it was peak hp, we'd all be appetizers for Supras.

So unless you can convince me that a supercharger can give the mach one an instant 150 hp as soon as the pedal is depressed like the NOS can on the LS1, my point is valid.

a simple fact everyone can agree on is the retards driving the cars. slowing down to about 30-40 on the highway with cards coming up behind them is retarded. then racing catching up to the other cars and hitting brakes?? I love to race on the street as well, but be a little more safer shall we?

How about this supercharged engine...Instant power (http://www.fordtruckworld.com/gallery/CANTONRACER/487321.jpg)

But that is not really a good comparison because it is a positive displacement supercharger.

A supercharged car that is wound up is just as snappy as a car running a shot of n2o...it is when the car is in the wrong gear or to low of an rpm when the boost (lack of) is noticeable.

ill agree wholey with cantonracer. that mach1 did not make 430rwhp. more than likely wasnt even supercharged. maybe the last race was close because the trans am didnt spray from the 3rd honk. maybe he ran NA for a bit then hit the juice.
