I bottomed out pulling into a lot. My borla seperated where it meets the mufflex Y pipe. I took it to a midus and they said it looks bent a little, and the'll "try" to fix it next week when they have more time, but don't even know if they can. Is it safe to drive around now with it being like that? It's not hanging or nothing. Also, people are looking left and right when I drive by. Does it sound good outside the car like this, or like ****, and they're thinking wtf? I'm wondering if it does sound good outside, would this be how a cutout would sound, and should I get one? The guy at midus said that pipe where it connects is at least 4" and he don't have pipe that big to coupler it back together even. Do you guys think I should just take it to a better, more custom type exhaust shop?

Your car has a 3" exhaust system, not 4"
I'd take it somewhere else! It's a clamp together system! at worse case they should be able to disconect it and put it in a pipe bender.
the Borla has a cut out feature, if you put the bigest open plate in where the 3 bolts are on the passenger outlet it's just like a cutout.
what you have is an easy fix, it's just a tough location to reach without a lift.

I find it hard to believe that an exhaust shop doesn't have the time to do an easy fix like that. Call another shop.

Thanks for the replies guys. The Y pipe is 4" where it connects to the borla though. I even had to buy a 4" to 3" reducer from thunderracing when I had it installed. I've had no plate in the borla since day 1, but it sounds even louder now lol. I think i'm going to take it to this custom exhaust shop. I took it there on fri but he pulled my car into the bay, and looked at my ground effects and said he don't think his lift would work because of the clearance. It the kind that the arms swing under it. However on sat, midus had the same lift and they had no problem. I'm going to tell him that, as well as maybe take my jack with me to even jack it up a little to get the arms under to lift it. I still like the way it sounds now and the way it turns heads. It does sound different. I think i may still get a electric cut out. Maybe do it over the winter. I'll try this other shop tomorrow though. Thanks again.
