Would anyone have bought one of these?Z284ever 08-26-2005, 10:25 PM http://motortrend.com/future/spied/112_0402_sketch/ Lasombra52 08-26-2005, 11:10 PM No, I wouldn't. I don't like the SSR and I don't like that concept either. FiefSS 08-26-2005, 11:31 PM Hmm.. i woulda called it an HHR, kept the 5.3, or the LS2, and made it a 2 door station wagon.. wow that might have been really cool! JEDCamino 08-26-2005, 11:48 PM I think that would be cooler than the current SSR. :p 91Z28350 08-27-2005, 12:48 AM Nope, that is no more interesting to me than the SSR (not at all). Josh452 08-27-2005, 03:16 AM It's basically what the HHR is. Rumors on C&G were that the General was in consideration of a "wagon like" vehicle based off the SSR. That spawned the HHR given the subtle syling and such. For what its worth. The HHR will be a hit. The more I see it....the more I actually considering owning one. poSSum 08-27-2005, 07:48 AM There's not enough information to say "Yes, I'll buy it", but I've been an advocate of a lower, more aerodynamic, full frame, utility type vehicle that has at least a 5,000# tow rating for quite some time. I just don't get why one needs to pay the "brick" penalty all year long to be able to tow a couple of times a year. :( turbo96z28 08-27-2005, 08:28 AM hmmmmmmmmm....i think i woulda considered it. i always liked panel trucks(i have a 63 dodge town panel with a 440 in it) so i probably would have gave it some heavy consideration before i got my last truck. guionM 08-27-2005, 02:45 PM It's basically what the HHR is. The more I see it....the more I actually considering owning one. No doubt that thing will be a hit! I initially felt it was a PT wannbe. Now, after actually seeing those things, they're pretty awesome. While the PT Cruiser looks like a 40-ish retro-wagon (cool in it's own right), the HHR looks like a customized 50s hotrod! For those of you who haven't seen on on the streets yet, it looks like it has a chopped top, aftermarket tail lights & grille, and the body work looks almost customized. the windows look like Chrysler 300-like gun-slits. It all gives the HHR a modern look. Despite how it looks in pictures, I have a hard time calling it "retro". The thing actually looks modern. Wierd, huh? Chrome383Z 08-27-2005, 02:52 PM No doubt that thing will be a hit! I initially felt it was a PT wannbe. Now, after actually seeing those things, they're pretty awesome. Wierd, huh? And they need to pull these exact things off with the Camaro too... ;) SCNGENNFTHGEN 08-27-2005, 02:57 PM I am one of the few who actually like, the SSR. So for me it's a no brainer, that looks pretty sweet as well IMO! And yeah the HHR, up close looks really nice too! I think it will do very well. Chrome383Z 08-27-2005, 03:06 PM I like the SSR to as well but there are two things going against it. 1) 2 Seater on a "Truck". 2) Expensive - for just a hair more you can have a better performing Corvette. Unless you just LOVED the styling of the SSR over the Vette it does not make sense to buy one. But this is IMO FutureZMan 08-27-2005, 03:08 PM  unvc92camarors 08-27-2005, 05:11 PM I like the SSR but don't like that at all. ADV1 08-27-2005, 05:19 PM Nomad??? turbo96z28 08-27-2005, 05:21 PM Nomad??? hmmmm...didn't think of it that way. that would make a cool nomad. Z28Marcus 08-27-2005, 06:32 PM A turd is still a turd, no matter which way you squish it.... so no! :D Chris 96 WS6 08-27-2005, 06:59 PM I'd drive one. HAZ-Matt 08-27-2005, 07:19 PM I prefer the SSR actually. If I was rich I would buy it, mod it, and make it my daily driver :) mcsslover1987 08-27-2005, 09:10 PM An SSR Sedan Delivery would be cool. :) SCNGENNFTHGEN 08-27-2005, 10:15 PM An SSR Sedan Delivery would be cool. :) I agree, and the lack of the folding roof, could bring costs way down too! :alert: Indelibility 08-28-2005, 12:44 AM No... Kris93/95Z28 08-28-2005, 12:53 AM :irk: Nope. formula79 08-28-2005, 01:16 AM The SSR would be cool if it didn't feel like driving a high powered dumptruck. It has the Trailblazers steering box, which is like almost 4 turns lock to lock ...plus it leans like mad. It is a pretty fast vehicle.....but it definatly is scary if you push it... Meccadeth 08-28-2005, 01:19 AM "Breadwagon" even with that name alone I wouldn't want to buy it. Big Als Z 08-28-2005, 02:33 AM I belive they call that a "Trailblazer SS" now.... jg95z28 08-28-2005, 03:13 PM LS2 and 6spd? In a heartbeat. :D What would it be called, SSP? ;) FutureZMan 08-28-2005, 05:20 PM LS2 and 6spd? In a heartbeat. :D What would it be called, SSP? ;) SSPX :metal: AronZ28 08-28-2005, 05:55 PM I'd buy it if it were based off the y body Corvette or a future RWD car architecture. If it drove like a fast truck or fast "breadwagon", then what's the point? It will not appeal to enthusaists. It will not appeal to the practical SUV driver because a Tahoe will have two more doors, tow more, carry more people and stuff for the same amount(or less) $$$. If a vechile is not going to have the work ethic of a truck, then it shouldn't be based off a truck(SSR, cough, cough). SCCA 08-28-2005, 09:37 PM It would make a great tow vehicle if it wasn't too expensive. | ||
