Knocking Noise

This weekend a very interesting thing happened to me. Friday night when i stomped on the gas on my way home from my friend's house, my trans made a DUNK DUNK noise out of first into second. i thought, hmmmm, raccoon's head. Nope. Saturday, it did it again on my way to work at about 3500 RPMs. I went to the nearest country road and did a test run to see if it would do it again. It did. Had my future brother-in-law look at it and his friend who works at a car dealer. They told me it was a simple tranny mount, or the tranny. I'm 16 and looking for a winter car, where am i gunna get $1500 for a trans when i need a winter car? So this morning i had my dad look at it after i took him for a ride in it. Made the DUNK DUNK noise on the backroad and took it home. He crawled under it and pointed right to the tranny mount. It was split. He said my car has so much torque that the transmission tore the mount right off of the cross member. It did. Went and got the part, $30.67, which is much better than $1500. Took off the old mount, it was completely gone, no rubber was attached to the mount. Put the new mount on, and hit that country road once again. No DUNK DUNK. Pulled a hole shot infront of my house, got yelled at by my stepmom, and put it in the garage. I get to deal with my dad cuz of my hole shot the next time i see him since he works nights and i work days.
