Raced a ??' Mach 1 Mustang

I dont know whole lot about mustang but this was an old school looked like 60's or 70's mach one. I have an orgasim when I saw it in my rear view mirror. Ahh man w/ gas prices at 3 bucks here, its nice to see a real guzzler go WOT despite the money. Anyways I didnt really want to race this guy just listen to the beaste at full throttle, I think it may have been a 429 duno but it was loud and nice. He comes up beside me and revs and we go on 3 honks, He instantly got a couple cars on me and slowly pulled, and then I started to pull him in but in the end he won by a couple cars.

My car has magnaflow catback, CAI, K&N, LT4 springs, 1.6 comp rr's, TB bypass.

wow that's badass. I'm gonna say you battled a 351 though... Mach1s either came with 351s or 426s usually, and a 426 would have been GONE.

Maybe it was a 426. An LT1 should be able to handle a 351. Didn't those Machs run high 13s back then?

426??? depending on year. Mach 1's came with 351 with either 2 or 4 barrlels,390's('69 only),428, and 429's. 351 mach 1's were high 15 second cars in stock trim but the 428 and 429's were able to dip into the 13's in stock trim.

When I was in high school, there was a kid whose dad had way too much money got a mint 69 Mach 1 with the SCJ 428 in it. That thing was a beast. It would fry the tires on the 1-2 upshift through the C-6. I pretty sure that the engine wasn't stock.

It's always a treat to line up against the originals. Good job.

It was quite fun, most of the time I just like racing nice cars because I get to watch them go full throttle which is pretty darn cool.
