ws6transam 08-16-2005, 10:20 PM I'm going, I signed up at the Michigan Speed board (http://www.michiganspeed.com/Speedforum/showthread.php?threadid=7826) but I dont see many folks from the CZ28.com on the signup list. Where are you all going to be during the WDC?
See you all around Eleven mile. I'll have my cell phone with me and my Motorola Talkabout, which will be set to channel six.
Yawn...... hmm, let's see:
It's still summer and there's boating, beaches and barbeques to enjoy.
Too many "non-enthuasist" vehicles to sort through.
Crowds and traffic jams.
Paying to park/watch.
Crowds and traffic jams.
Cops, cops and more cops.
Oh, and did I mention the crowds and traffic jams?????????????????
Yawn.
00Z28SS 08-16-2005, 11:28 PM I'll be there for sure. The best time to be down there is last weekend through wednesday or thursday though. I'll put up with the crowds and traffic jams to see some bada$$ rides. I think I'm parking near 13 mile, but I have to check.
AutoRoc 08-17-2005, 01:46 AM Just got back and WOW. Nice cars stacked up for miles and miles. Tomorrow should be the same and I'll be out there again!

Not for me.
I'm getting there early, staying late, and bringing myself a camera, ice chest, food, lots of sunblock, a hat, a comfortable chair, some good walking shoes, and tossing a big umbrella in the car for good measure. Maybe even a blanket and pillow in case I get sleepy in the evening. ;)
As for overheating: It just means the tune aint right or the cooling system needs help. Personally, I love my Griffen radiator! 186 degrees all day, every day.
meissenation 08-18-2005, 12:59 PM SLP was out there last night down at 11 mile. We cruised through, parked it around 9pm, and then stayed there for quite a bit, I left around 11:30ish. I was in my beater car, a 944 porsche. :o There was about 10 of us Fbodies lined up along the street.
kandied91z 08-18-2005, 03:59 PM i miss being able to pack anything more then an extra person and a cd case in my car.
:(
AutoRoc 08-18-2005, 04:47 PM That's what happens when you turn your car into a rolling disco with an air system capable of running one of those bouncy playland things. :D
I'd stretch it 24" and add a row of seating.
WOODWARD!!! WOOO!!(on topic!)

guywidiroc 08-18-2005, 06:32 PM It was best at about 10:30 last night when it thinned out a little. Anyone going out tonight? Looks like rain, so I may pass.
ws6transam 08-18-2005, 09:00 PM Oh Denny, you're a hoot! You coming by the lot at 11 mile? I hope so. It looks like I'm going to be bringing my (nearly fully functional) prototype of the F.A.S.T. eight-channel EGT module and have it plugged into a F.A.S.T. XFI ECM. Come find my car if you want to see the new C-ComFW XFI software in action: It's got some cool data acquisition capabilities. The ECM is running standalone, but I hope to be beta testing one of FAST's new universal wiring harnesses soon by turning the Minirammed 385 into a fully sequential, wide-band controlled, EGT monitored, dual-stage nitrous sniffing beast! :D
heh, my whole engine's slowly getting buried in braided stainless steel!
meissenation 08-19-2005, 07:42 AM I'm picking my car up from the paint shop today at 1pm, but I have to go back to work at 5pm. :( I might head out to Woodward later in the evening after I get my photoshoots in, though.
ws6transam 08-21-2005, 02:05 PM I was at the 2005 Woodward Dream Cruise yesterday with my local car club Michigan Speed (http://www.michiganspeed.com). We were partnered with Motown Muscle and had a parking lot rented. It turns out that we were also co-sponsored by Livernois Motorsports, and as part of the deal, we got to put our cars up onto their portable chassis dyno for two free pulls! So, I was the last one of the night. The Trans Am was the quietest of the cars that they put up there on the portable chassis dyno, and they had a few difficulties with the off-idle tune, which likes to buck. However, once they got the car rolling smoothly in fourth gear, they floored it and took the car to 6500 RPM for two pulls. The sound from outside the car grew from near-silent idle to a powerful roar, and it was awesome. It revved freely and sounded wicked. Unfortunately at the end of the second run, the generator ran out of gas, the UPS took a dump, and they were unable to print out the dyno sheet. However, we all got to see the graph which shows lots of little spikes and flat spots, indicating a non-optimal tune before the laptop also quit.
Even so, it looks like at about 5800 RPM the car, even while running through the old Feeble305's Edelbrock TES headers, put approximately 385 - 395 horsepower to the rear wheels. Livernois is going to try and email the graphs to me later in the week, because we couldnt measure it exactly due to the laptop's failing battery. EDIT: I got the printout.
Actual numbers were 396 RWHP at 6250 RPM and 383 ft.lb at 4200 RPM (http://www.ws6transam.org/dyno.jpg)
My thanks to Livernois for tirelessly working their butts off the whole day on getting all those cars across the dyno. Woodward Dream Cruise was unbelieveably awesome.
I think that after I get this FAST LSX ECM installed and the new exhaust fabricated, I'm heading over there for a day's worth of tuning.
I would also like to thank the folks at Hardcore Motorsports for giving me some brake fluid to top off my clutch cylinder: After three and a half hours of stop & go cruising, I started developing shin splints, and my clutch piston developed a small leak. Luckily we caught it just as the small master cylinder was nearly empty, so there's no brake bleeding necessary. However, I guess I will have to buy myself a new one and install it this fall!
I hope some of you made it to the cruise: After the afternoon rain storm, the weather was beautiful.
MotorCityNova572 08-21-2005, 04:38 PM Yea even though there was a few drunkin mishaps..All-in-all it was one hell of a night..I got some good video of the Dyno pulls. Some sweet sweet cars and a belly full of food and drinks. to bad we got rain and thunder BUT i hope it will be flawless next year..Hope to see everyone plus more next year...Thanks to everyone That made my First "Woodward Dream Cruise" So much fun...
OH BY THE WAY.......what is up with Tim Horton's...is no one goin up there now that this is all over!!!
I'll TRY to get some pics up and some video up A.S.A.P...
97SS0594 08-21-2005, 09:49 PM sorry for those behind me that i smoked out :( had a good time non the less!! seen some sweet veihicles, and even got into a little all f-body group for a bit. after the cruise i headed to gratiot and cruised for a bit then went back to woodward and 14mile and sat for a bit. cant wait till next year!!
meissenation 08-22-2005, 08:31 AM SLP arrived on Woodward around 9am and stayed all day. We cruised up Woodward to 16, then back down to 8 mile, stopped for lunch, and then cruised back north to 19 mile. Excellent time! Funniest part was going up Woodward with walkie talkies and hearing some of the guys on the same channel go "And here's the Camaro club!" 19 mile was a great spot, too... no traffic jam, so you could actually hear people cruise by and get on it and there were no cops around to catch burnouts. All-in-all, morning was rough, but after the rain it was awesome!
I have some pics here:

jp2002ls1 08-22-2005, 04:20 PM Woodward was cool except that I waxed my car in the morning and then it got all dirty while driving in the rain to the cruise. I can't believe how many people got busted by the cops. There was a black hearse that got pulled over because everyone had beer bottles in their hands, then there was a sharp orange ls1 camaro that was infront of me for about 20 seconds before he decided to do a burnout and got busted, my friend in his vette got busted so after 30 minutes I was cruising with a minivan at one side and rice all around me but it got better as the night went on Saturday.
