Firework in My Trunk - a few questions - kind of long

Ok - Let’s start :D
Had an overnight installation a couple of days ago and here is what happened...
First, about the whole system...
From the head unit - 2 sets of RCA's (good ones)
From the battery - 4ga, goes through the fuse and 2 way splitter in the trunk, splits to 2 - 8GA,
One 8Ga goes trough cap to the bigger amp to the sub in the rear wing...
Second directly to the smaller amp - to 2 bridges to components in Q-boxes in front.
All grounds are 8ga wires

Now all the crappy things what happed that I need your advice on...
1. "The main one" - left component worked for maybe 2 seconds. The fuse in the amp went but didn't brake. So I took out the pair of pliers and put another one in. same thing happened. Well - I had to make sure and got the pliers in there for the third time :D - this time was the charm. One of the bridges exploded with the cover flying away and a good pile of smock coming out of it..
Oh yea - the other speaker/tweeter works just fine.

Question: are this bridges inputs polar sensitive?? What else could go wrong in there? since I only want to get just a pair of bridges (I hope all of them work with different brands), I really don’t want to fry it too.. What the "step by step" troubleshot I have to do

2. Who ever put the Q-Logic boxes on the kick panels probably know that the fitment is a real $hit and to get them to hold in there with 300W components in them is a real PITA.
Question: want did you guys do to get it to hold in the far end on the passenger side.
I’ve but as much cotton in there as I could to kill the resonation but its still craps out like a broken guitar...

Also another quick question - my Cap has 2 ports for the ground. One of them goes to the frame ground and the other one is free for now.. Can I use it as the ground for one of the amps??

Thanks to all in advance
All the inputs will be appreciated
Alex

I don't understand what you are speaking about with the "bridges" that's not a term that makes sence in what you are describing.

bridges - crossovers

Well, first off, yes, the crossovers are polarity sensitive, just like everything else in the system. My guess is something is hooked up wrong or the crossovers were shot to begin with.

the problem is on the crossover their is no polarity (+/-) mentioned - only "In, woofer, tweeter" signs.
well I just got a new set of the crossovers and I'll try to get them working in the next couple of day.

after seeing caps explode i would never use the cap as a ground for the amp if something were to happen it would be very bad peace
