Harmonic dampers

As far as I can tell, there are three types of harmonic dampers:
1. Elastomeric (stock, ATI, and others)
2. Fluid (Fluidampr)
3. Pendulum (TCI Rattler)

What's the best for a drag racing engine shifted at 7000rpm? What if it's driven to and from the dragstrip? I have my 454 BBC in mind, but I want this thread to be helpful to everyone who is choosing a damper.


(I did a search, but I couldn't find a thread that addressed all 3 types of dampers.)

The ATI is a awesome setup if you are going high RPM, while a Fluidampr is good for a low RPM street car that see's high 6000's to 7000rpm max, at least looking at the harmonics charts of the dampers.

Anybody have any experience or opinions about the pedulum style dampers? They sound too good to be true to me.

I used a TCI Rattler on my Stock Eliminator small block for six or seven years. It regularly crossed the finish line at 73 to 7500. After about 1000 runs, all I can say is that the crank never broke.
