ChevyTuffD.A. 08-13-2005, 01:41 PM Yea and the Mustang didnt take off on the second honk or anything  96PTKZ28 08-14-2005, 03:54 PM No surprises here. The PTK mustangs are pretty impressive. don't get me wrong, I love vettes, but Procharger is old technology in contrast to the turbo systems out there on the market. And as much as I don't care for mustangs, I would have no problem driving this one. Good kill!!!! ULTIMTEORANGESS 08-14-2005, 09:17 PM the king is dead. robb4964 08-20-2005, 08:00 PM Yea and the Mustang didnt take off on the second honk or anything  A jump makes all the difference in the world too. 96PTKZ28 08-20-2005, 08:58 PM A jump or not, the PTK stang would have still handed this vette its a**! Simply no contest. And besides, I cant see the stang being so far ahead in the first place. We need a rematch to settle this one. robb4964 08-20-2005, 09:02 PM A jump or not, the PTK stang would have still handed this vette its a**! Simply no contest. And besides, I cant see the stang being so far ahead in the first place. We need a rematch to settle this one.I wouldnt know. I have no Idea what kind of setup that Mustang has. I have to say im intersted. AaronC 08-20-2005, 10:41 PM Well I'm pretty sure it's the same guy around Cincy on the forums. Ackbar. He's on Stangbangerz.com and I think turbomustangs.com. I like LT1's and LS1's, but turbo-anything is just plain sick. Jump or not, if you go to turbomustangs.com and read, even a little old 5.0 with a medium turbo is pushing over 600 hp. Aaron speedmiser 08-21-2005, 01:37 AM ... but Procharger is old technology in contrast to the turbo systems out there on the market. Care to explain that? What's so new about about turbo technology? Effective yes - technogically new though... don't think so. 96PTKZ28 08-22-2005, 11:19 AM With the advent of VATN turbos effectively replacing the wastegate, electronic boost controllers( when was the last time you adjusted the boost on your blower from the drivers seat). And yes, I take back the old technology statement, more like WAY less efficient and antequated technology. When was the last time a supercharger company made a major technological advancement??? Answer, not in a long time. Oh they came out with self contained head units. THey just spend millions on advertisements. Im not saying superchargers dont work, just that they dont work as well as a turbo. I actually owned a Procharger and liked it. But it didnt hold a candle to a properly setup turbo system. You obviously are a blower fan, so I can see this arguement going nowhere fast. speedmiser 08-22-2005, 07:07 PM You're drawing the wrong conclusions and fast. My daily driver has a turbo (2005 Legacy GT) and my best friend has twin turbos in his Lt1 powered 68 camaro. My s-trim was bought used as a neat/cheap replacement for 1 of the stages on my previous 2 stage nitrous system. It does it's job, but it is by no means the most effecient But I can see we don't agree with what constitutes major technological advances. The core technology has been around for decades. I'd consider the e-controller more of a convienence than an advancement. Now turnabout is fair play, so when was the last time you adjusted the boost on your turbo from the drivers seat? Doesnt it have to run first??? :p 96PTKZ28 08-22-2005, 07:36 PM Man you are just bustin my balls arent you!! I hit the button on my e-boost the other day, but it didnt do anything  On a serious not though, i do drive many of my friends turbo cars which have the same or similar boost controls to mine and they are quite nice. You do have to admit that variable geometry turbine technology is pretty trick( although not major in your book). and I would agree that the electronic boost controller is more of a convienence device if it weren't for the fact that it can be programmed for varying boost in diffrent gears and can be set to your personal prefference from the driver seat. This still beats a wrench, pulley and belt and busted knuckles required to change the boost on a blower. and there is NO inherent proctection built into that system but your right foot. This is like the STS vs Front mount arguement(front mounts are better, my 2 cents) we will agree to disagree. My grandfather once told me this," You have the right to you opinion, and I have the right not to listen. Cheers mhhodges76 08-23-2005, 04:25 PM Is anyone else here as lost as I am? My head hurts....it feels like I'm studying for an old trig. exam while I try to understand the last three or four posts. | ||
