I have a fews questions bout my new toythe car in question has the following:
bbk t/body , k&n cold air intake, under drive pulleys, flowmaster cat back, 4l60e, cooling fan overide switch, 180 thermostat, one wheel peel stock gears.

I have a limited slip carrier with 3.42's from a 2k s10. same parts correct??

Any idea's on what I need for 12's N/A??

what gear ratio's came stock in a 94 z28 auto?

Are the trans ratio's the same or similar between the 4l60e and 700r4?

94 Z came with either 2.73 or 3.23 rear gears unless option was included may have 3.42's

If the console starts at 1 its a 3.23 car, if it starts at 2 its a 2.73 car. You can hit 12s with a basic bolt on good running LT1, Long Tubes, good torque converter, 3.73s, sticky tires and skinnies and it should be able to hit deep in the 12s, plenty people have. The 700R4 is a 4L60, with a 4 pin case connector and one less check ball in the valve body. The 4L60s have one extra check ball in the valve body and 5 pin case connector, other wise same trans. The 4L60E is just a computer controlled 4L60, first year used being 94 when they switched to PCM from ECM, the ECM were 93 LT1 only. The S-10 have the same center section I believe, 7.5 inch 10 bolt, so it may work, not sure.

look at my mods in my sig, I am confident I can obtain a 12 second timeslip with what I have done, but the addition of a nice 3200 or so torque converter would put me deep into the 12's. I also have a little weight reduction which helps (no back seats, no spare tire/jack, no front swaybar, no air or egr and a 22 lb battery) I have only ran the car once this summer and it was a 80-90 degree day.......so in some good weather I am thinking high 12 for sure.

What is your budget like and how deep into the 12s do you want to go?

See sig

Weather and elevation will play a factor too.

It's easier to put a LT1 car in the 12's with the addittion of a small cam(Hotcam, CC305 etcc), 1.6rr's, headers, converter and sticky tires then trying to do it with only boltons which isn't hard either. Just this way the car will run 108-110mph and run 12.60's or so in the heat and lower 12's when the weather is better. My car with a Hotcam, shorties, Vigilante 2800, mailorder tune and stickies ran 12.50's@108mph with the stock 3.23's and 4l60e back a couple years ago in the summer. Now with a little better suspension, good heads and a bigger cam it has been 11.20's@120mph still with only 3.42's in the rear setup for n2o. Goodluck. Later Clint

provided the information from -neil350- is correct I have 2.73's (that sucks)
however I do have 3.42's and a good limited slip.

right now I have a tight budget- 3 stangs and a camaro to feed
I have a set of weld big'n littles with m/t drag radials the new gears/carrier

cc305= comp cams 305??

is it even possible to run high 12's low 13's with mods listed, a diet, 1.6 rr's, stock manifolds/ypipe gutted cat??

yea cc305=comp cams 305....personally I dont think with a high 12 is possible without at least headers or a stall converter...I'm sure it has been done maybe on an m6 car......but I just dont think you will a: have a good enough 60 foot and b: enough power to get a 12.

With the following stuff I ran a 13.6 which I thought was damn good for what I had done. 2.73 gears, stock converter, stock exhaust with a cutout, mail order tune, moroso cai, asp replacement underdrive pulley, the afformentioned weight mods with a 15lb battery instead of my current 22lb one, bfg drag radials and that was pretty much it.

The gears and addition of longtubes gained me 6 tenths in et and possibly more if I can get a 12 second run one of these days.

I accept that challenge markymark... shall we say mid to low 13's (to be realalistic) with stock manifolds y/pipe and t/q convertor???

oh yea, with a torque converter low 13's high 12's are definately possible with a good tire.

Well good luck! Keep us posted when you go to the track... I am always interested in seeing how other cars run.
