big shot??1badasZ 08-04-2005, 11:28 PM would i be able to spray about a 300 shot 2 stage on my car after i build the 383? im going with the eagle forged setup n not sure bout the cam yet but it will be a custom grind.with tuning and fuel to support it would i be able to keep from blowing it sky high? (as long as your fuel system is up to snuff & you have a good tune). Nitro Dave 08-05-2005, 03:19 PM THe best thing to do when picking your internals is to check with the piston manafacture.Let them know what size shot you are looking to spsray.This way they can recommend a piston, rods,crank that is best desighned to handle the abuse.Do not settle for a budget nitrous Piston.I would also look at getting splayed caps and coating the pistons.Like Harris said make sure your fuel system is up to par.And on larger shots the tune up becomes alot more cretical. Most piston companys now offer the coating.This just helps keep the heat off the piston.If you car is a LT1 JE or Wiesco offers some good pistons.If you go with JE get the real JE not the SRP.SRP will work but for the larger shots I recommend the JE over the SRP.
