Big Block in 4th genblahster 08-04-2005, 09:36 PM Will a big block fit in a 4th gen camaro? teke184 08-04-2005, 09:41 PM i've seen a GM 502 fit in the bay of an LT1 equipped camaro. and a guy in the florida section put a 454 in his 95Z his screen name is Dave C. or something like that...go talk to him Compstall 08-06-2005, 02:00 AM GM themselves did it with a BB 572 ZL1. :) MotorCityNova572 08-06-2005, 02:02 AM GM themselves did it with a BB 572 ZL1. :) Yea and that 572 is a VERY VERY BIG damn motor Strahley 08-07-2005, 10:38 PM You can but there are lots of 11 and 10 second LT1/LS1 cars, quite a few in the 9s, some in the 8s and lower. To my knowledge those are all SBC cars, the ones I'm thinking of at least. I'd say stick with the LT1/LS1, rather than the hassle of trying to make a BBC fit (I'm positive the stock LS1 k-member wouldn't fit with any other kind of engine, etc etc) JBird33 08-08-2005, 12:56 AM You can but there are lots of 11 and 10 second LT1/LS1 cars, quite a few in the 9s, some in the 8s and lower. Think about the sheer uniqueness of it, a BBC in a 4th Gen would be awesome! TraceZ 08-08-2005, 01:12 AM HERE (http://www.slponline.com/view_product.asp?P=12412) is a 402 LS2 shortblock that would make any 4th gen F-body both unique and fast. 402 cubic inches is right up there with big blocks, and the LS2 is a aluminum small block! The best of both worlds, for a mere $3945.00. ;) It would be pretty unique, too. I can see the 402 emblems on the fenders already. Strahley 08-08-2005, 03:27 AM Depends on if you're only doing it to go fast though. Think about the sheer uniqueness of it, a BBC in a 4th Gen would be awesome! Yup, I agree with ya there. Being unique is good But then again, a 408 LS1 would work fine for me :D teke184 08-08-2005, 07:48 AM and the ls2 engine should bolt right up to the stock mounts and probably the trans too rskrause 08-08-2005, 12:43 PM The price/power ratio for a big block is why people consider them. I thought long and hard about a BB in my 4th gen and may someday do it. Lot's of weight up front is a big reason why I haven't gone that way. An aluminum big block ups the cost at least another $2k.
