Well i got a Dewalt (dw849) Buffer from my work 1,000-3,000rpm. Its about 4 years old and the detailer told me it needs new contacts for it to work. Anyone ever replace the contacts on a dewalt? He told me they are like 20$ from a local paint/equipment store.

Just wondering if anyone has gone through this and has any tips for me before i take it apart

Memory serves...its been a long while...I tried doing this on one at work. Ended up costing more to fix everything else i broke. There are wires that unless you know what you are doing, theyre very easy to break off the circuitry. You might try, if you already havent, those big phillips head looking things on either side are holding the brushes in. They get clogged up and cause the buffer to fail. Take them out and clean them up and that usually is a quick fix that holds up for a long time.
