formula79 07-20-2005, 06:46 PM Shouldn't Buick have a RWD sedan soon?
Josh452 07-20-2005, 07:06 PM Buick's RWD sedan will not come until likely '08. Although, it was being developed by Holden in Australia with Zeta (no work on the Buick RWD Zeta was being done in North America) so that could still be on.
formula79 07-20-2005, 07:15 PM Holden's Zeta line should be up soon. I remember talk a while back that we would get two products imported from Austrailia in the future. I assumed one would be the El Camino and the other would be the Buick flagship. However since there is now a rumor that the GTO will be made on the V platform and imported for longer than expected (till after GM gets their RWD sedan's to market)...then I wonder how that would effect Holdens ability to export the Buick sedan and the El Camino. Would one get bumped till the GTO is a go. Just speculating.
turbo200 07-20-2005, 07:23 PM Guion, when can you estimate will the CTS be out on the streets? Since it's going to be an '07 model, can we assume we'll see it at NAIAS?
Here are some other upcoming models
Saturn Aura
Saturn Outlook
Saturn Ion
guesswhoo 07-20-2005, 10:18 PM SVT Explorer? First Ive heard? Please tell me they are not going to give the Sport Trac SVT the axe!!

Its full name is "Explorer Sport Trac" from what I understand.

Right on the Saturns. :)
The new CTS should be at one of one of this year's shows (Detroit, Chicago, or New York) and should be out no later than fall next year.

Holden's 1st Zeta car should be at the Sydney show in about 4 or 5 months, and on the streets within a year.
Monaro is scheduled to have it's plug pulled soon, and GM-North America's deal with Holden to import the GTO is supposed to end within 12 months (the close of the 2006 model year). Word is also that the GTO production will most likely continue for another season extra if sales (currently over projections) hold.
There is an El Camino planned for GM-NA, and the Holden UTE is scheduled to continue as is for a few more years, but I don't know about the timing. My guess is it will be out as in limited numbers in 2007 as a 2008 and will last till the UTE production ends a year or 2 later.
There still seems to be a Holden Zeta sedan in the cards for Buick, but there is also a rumor running around of a Buick based off the new CTS Sigma chassis as well. Though I'd put my money on Holden's version, I know it would take very little in time & money to rebody a CTS for Buick, so either is highly possible. In either case,we're looking at 2007 as a 2008 at the earliest.
As for the next Holden coupe, as far as I can tell, there is still only one "affordable" active RWD 4 passenger coupe chassis program running at GM. This is pure speculation on my part, but considering how much Holden want's a RWD coupe very soon, and how Monaro is scheduled to end within a year and GTO not more than a year later, I can see Holden placing the next Monaro-like car (the Torana?) on this upcoming coupe structure. This would give Chevy, Pontiac, and Holden a coupe (pretty much the same lineup that was planned on the larger but cancelled North American Zeta chassis).
Nothing official or even rumor-mill. Just something that seems logical knowing GM-NA & GM-Holden. :)

Going by CV8-Z media statement you could read into it that they are the last 1200 Monaro's/GTO to be built on the V-Platform. This could indicate that the days are numbered for the GTO.
"The special edition CV8Z will be produced from August 1st 20054 and is the final version of the iconic VZ Monaro. 1200 will be built."
EDIT : Just noticed someone has put the Bulletin up on www.newagegto.com

you're awesome, thanks for the info
Sounds like a lot is going on with the Zeta still, could we see the Pontiac G8 or something like it in the future?

I belive that is Caliber, not Caliper, like a brake caliper.
Nitro?
And I assume Aspen is the new Chrysler SUV? I am surprised that Chrysler has yet to produce an SUV. I can ONLY assume Hemi power, using Durango chassis. I picture a Durango with 300's grill and HID headlights...mmm, sign me up.
I would really like to see a H4 from Hummer, something built off 355, but shortend and using the 4200 and a 5spd manual. Throw on some BFG Mud T/A's, and you have an attractive, Wrangeresque car from Hummer that will really attract the young people.
unvc92camarors 07-23-2005, 06:36 PM New Malibu right?
And Al, I actually think it is called the Caliper. IIRC that is.
Gripenfelter 07-23-2005, 08:38 PM Any idea what will be different with the 2007 CTS?
killer-camaro 07-23-2005, 10:31 PM ok, i'm confident in this. although i have no knowledge whatsoever and dont expect to gain some anytime soon. but i think we will see a 2007 Camaro.
as far as the hummer thing, IMO the only hummer that doesnt look like ass is the H1. all others look like cheap ripoffs that dont deserve the name.
Gold_Rush 07-23-2005, 10:42 PM Any idea what will be different with the 2007 CTS?
I hope the 3.6L v6 gets a power bumb to atleast 280 horses.
Josh452 07-23-2005, 11:01 PM a 600hp production pickup truck too.......(guy, if you know..SHHHHH!!!!)
Also, the Ford Aspen concept.
formula79 07-23-2005, 11:43 PM Wonder if the Blue Devil would share it's engine with any other cars?
Buickman 07-23-2005, 11:56 PM GM to complete assembly plant in Baghdad. New model, Camaro IRAQ.

Could it fit into the CTS or STS? :D
IREngineer 07-24-2005, 12:23 PM yes :D
toneloc12345 07-24-2005, 04:27 PM 600hp truck??? how about a turbo awd car.
TONY

Shortened yet still fit the I6?
guesswhoo 07-24-2005, 08:51 PM Who is going to bring this 600HP truck. Im hearing it won't be GM.
Any idea what will be different with the 2007 CTS?
it will be all new. Rumor has the 3.6L getting a boost to 305HP (direct injection?)
also the 2007 Escalade is all new and a Cadillac BRX small SUV will be show, it will be a 2008 though.

What chassis is the BRX running on? Sigma I assume? Don't see a reason why it couldn't be out as an 07 unless they just got done with it or something.

Rumor was Theta or Ep Crossover.

Theta 2.0 probably, but another site said something about being an Epsilon 2 based crossover, it will be AWD unlike the 2006 BLS sold in Eurpoe.
Big Als Z 07-27-2005, 11:32 AM Shortened yet still fit the I6?
You do know that there is a BACK end that could be cut off as well? Slide the firewall back...280hp I-6 would burry the Wrangler.
