If you are not using efi, then swap it. Everything bolts right together. If you are using efi, the there are other things to consider. (injectors, chips, etc) I have done these swaps, but I need a lot more information before I can help.

Do you want to keep your TBI? This will steer me in the right direction.

well swaping the engine will be easy as everything is pretty much the same unless ur changing the intake system.

swaping to manual is easy if u just buy a full swap. I converted my 700R4 to a T-5. Check my cardomain for some pics. It was pretty easy. I did it in about 3/4 of a day. It'll be best to do it while your motor is out. Good luck
I found a how-to online and every worked out great for me.

well i will probably keep the TBI setup unless it would be easier to go with something else. i dont know what i would have to change in order to do a swap to a differant type of intake system. thanks alot

If you are swapping motors and using the factory TBI setup. Things are still pretty easy. I am more of a TPI guy, but we did do this same swap on a friends car. He ordered a custom chip from Hypertech that was for the 350. This was about $400. Then he just transfrerred everything from the 305 to the 350.

Knowing what I know now, there are better ways to do it. The way my friend did it, works fine. But, there is a lot more performance out there. I have ran across TBI websites and forums that can give you some better advice. I can't think of them right now, but you can google them. I would google something like " 3rd gen TBI ". These guys can tell you what to do and what not to do. You will need all your specs on the 350, so a accurate suggestion can be made.

I had a 89 RS that came with a 305 tbi and it was changed to a 350 tbi...all you have to do is get a 350 tbi from a late 80's early 90's chevy truck and use the computer from the truck. The wiring is the same... And adding a 5 speed with it is also easy..

I was wondering if you could use the throttle body and computer out of a 350 pickup, but I wasn't going to suggest it. I had never seen it done and haven't researched. That is good info. to have.

Yes you can, I did... Its all the same wiring and bolt style... and edelbrock makes a tbi and intake that will make a few more horses that will hook right up without any mods...you can use there intake with your tbi or there's. Also you can add headers and a 100 shot nos and you will be hooked up nice... That's what I did and I'd mess up those LT1 boys... goodluck
