Jason E 07-18-2005, 10:38 PM Just made my reservations :D Ramada Inn in Bowling Green....yipee! :D FYI, www.hotels.com lists the Continental Inn next to the plant as being available, but I called them to try and get a better rate, and they're booked solid for "the damn Camaro show" :D :D BTW, use hotels.com to compare hotels, then use their address to get the phone # and call them up personally...I saved $20 that way.
So who's going? Doug? poSSum? Charlie? BG Summit anyone? :D I can't wait...this year I'm driving down Wednesday vs. Thursday night the way I did 2 years ago (when it ran Fri-Sun). Running over soft luggage in Buffalo at 3 AM and almost hydroplaning off I-71 at 1 AM on the return trip were not highlights of the last time I went  1,050 miles each way for me...
So who's going guys??? And if anyone wants to question why this isn't in the lounge, this is related to the BG Summit and none of those turkeys will go anyway!!
Doug Harden 07-18-2005, 10:44 PM I'm going to try really hard to be there......I haven't missed one yet :D
I have a nephew who's getting married that Saturday afternoon....and a music gig that evening....but "should" be there for Friday and a possible "Summit" Saturday AM. ;)
OctaneZ28 07-18-2005, 11:59 PM <raises hand> :)
Haven't booked my room yet, but I'll likely be staying at the Courtyard Marriott.
Z284ever 07-19-2005, 01:29 AM Trying to see if I can re-arrange some things. I'm glad the Continental is booked up.....I wouldn't stay there again anyway.
ryan1488 07-19-2005, 04:06 AM already got the days requested off
poSSum 07-19-2005, 09:58 AM HUGE contingent from the SSOA will be there, Marion and I included.
Jason E 07-19-2005, 12:00 PM Excellent :D I was hoping to see you again!! I owe you a thank you for helping talk some sense into me in my "I want a new car" thread :D
AronZ28 07-19-2005, 12:03 PM So is it this weekend? I live about an hour and a half from Bowling Green. I might be up there on Sunday, since I have to work on Friday and Saturday. :(
poSSum 07-19-2005, 12:09 PM Excellent :D I was hoping to see you again!! I owe you a thank you for helping talk some sense into me in my "I want a new car" thread :D
Try and get there early. The SSOA is doing a 'cruise to Sonic" on Wednesday evening.
No need to thank me. I was just expressing an opinion arrived at from age and experience. ;)
Jason E 07-19-2005, 01:08 PM I'll keep that in mind, plus I love Sonic :D Honestly, we'll probably be a little late...my ETA in Bowling Green is around 8 PM if we leave MA at 4 AM, which I fully intend to do! After a quick car clean-up, I'm sure we can meet up with you guys though...did I mention I love Sonic?? :D
30thZ286speed 07-21-2005, 11:36 PM I am thinking about going, I didn't make it last year I changed my mind that week when it looked like which ever hurricane it was at the time was going to ruin the weekend. I was there in 2002 and 2003, it was great but the price is a little high for what they offered, so I have to think about it before breaking out the card.
I am taking my dad down in Aug. for a plant tour, I'll be keeping my eyes open for Z06s and XLR-Vs.
Anything special this year?
smackkk 07-22-2005, 12:16 AM I'd like to but I dont think I can make both BG and NAIAS.
Bad AZz Z28 07-22-2005, 12:38 AM The plan is to already be down south on vacation around that time, and so Ill certainly stop by along the way. I have to make up for missing it at the last second last year.
Chris 96 WS6 07-22-2005, 09:04 AM I would love to go as I missed last year's, but that week I'm either going to have an extremely pregnant wife or a new baby girl.....Need to stay close to the house :D
Darth Xed 07-22-2005, 09:09 AM I would love to go as I missed last year's, but that week I'm either going to have an extremely pregnant wife or a new baby girl.....Need to stay close to the house :D
Sounds like me and the Detroit NAIAS!
Make sure you email me some pics of the baby when she arrives!! :) :) :)
sselie 07-22-2005, 09:42 AM 4 or 5 of us from from the Toronto area are already registered for the event and have reservations at the Continental (oh well, it's convenient!). Leaving on Tuesday and arriving on Wed. after lunch.
Best regardSS,
Elie
Jason E 07-22-2005, 10:08 AM I want to try to meet up with some of the people from here...it'd be great if we can get a time and place together. I'm trying to convince my fiance we need to leave at 3:30 AM so that we have an extra hour to get to Sonic Wednesday night. Yes, I am that pathetic :D
So anyone else? guion?
HTWLSS 07-27-2005, 02:57 PM Caravans are starting to organize. The more the merrier.
Feel free to participate in the forum dedicated to the B.G. Reunion, the "Out & About" forum (http://www.chirpthird.com/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=14).
Everyone is welcome to hang out with the SSOA at the Continental Inn during the evenings. Just bring your chair, introduce yourself, and join in on the conversation.
We'll be at the Sonic Drive-in on Wednesday, Sept 14th around 6 pm, then back to the Continental Inn after dinner to visit on the back porch. Hope to meet a lot of you.
1fastdog 07-27-2005, 05:53 PM It's quite possible I'll be going and I'm excited at the prospect.
I have been to BG many times and have enjoyed it a lot...never for a F-body deal though...so that's even more interesting.
The museum, the town, and the Plant are a very good time!

Paul87 07-28-2005, 12:46 AM Me and my buddy want to go but the pictures I have seen of the event it looks like mostly older people, I don't want them gawking at us young-un's :)

Lotsa old farts like me (55) - as well as a few others on this board (who shall remain nameless!) have been observed at this event in B.G. :D
Older, younger... it doesn't matter... it's a celebration of the car we love with a lot of really good people!
Best regardSS,
Elie
Paul87 07-28-2005, 05:05 PM Really? The only real car show I've been to is the Mopar Nats, that was pretty exciting but I really want to make this event.
30thZ286speed 09-13-2005, 06:46 PM Is high gas prices going to change your mind to come to Bowling Green this weekend?
I've got it pretty easy, I only live about 2-1/2 hours away. I didn't register this year, but I am thinking of driving down Sat. and spending the day in the area.
By the way the weather Saturday is suppose to be awesome, clear and highs in the low 80s. For you guys staying the whole weekend, a chance of rain on Thursday and Friday.
**Paging RP** What are you bringing this year, besides the Silver C6 Z06 you will be riding in on. ;)
95 Z/28 LT1 09-13-2005, 08:13 PM I'll be there.
Jason E 09-13-2005, 10:34 PM 7 AM Saturday morning, at the little diner next to the Continental Inn, across from the museum...breakfast with Doug, me, poSSum and RP :D I assume Doug got ahold of him to reconfirm?
Its 10:31 PM right now, the Z is loaded up, and my fiance and I are leaving here at 2 AM :D Its going to be about 15 hours down there, and 1,030 miles :D Its gonna be a long ride, and the gas prices will kill us...but ask me if I care.
Any of you guys going...look for a white and orange 30th Camaro with a MA plate on the back and a black "Camaro" plate on the front. I should be somewhere near it!!! I look forward to meeting any of you I can. Now, I'm off to make sure my water timers are set right (just re-seeded my lawn), and get a whole 3 hours of sleep :D
Woo hoo!!!!!! :D Gas prices, my a** :D
meissenation 09-13-2005, 10:36 PM Maybe next year.
Edit: I know a few that went in years past, they said the turnout wasn't that good and wasn't worth the drive from the detroit area. That, coupled with gas prices just wasn't enough to make me want to go.

.......
I'll need to tatoo it on his forehead, but he said he'd be there...I will be too ;) :p
BlakeW5 09-13-2005, 10:51 PM So it's this weekend? Pretty bad that I live an hour away and don't know. I might stop in this year to check it out, stay with some friends I got down at WKU.
Jason E 09-14-2005, 12:29 AM I'll need to tatoo it on his forehead, but he said he'd be there...I will be too ;) :p
Excellent :D Its 12:20 AM now, and I'm too wired to sleep. When I drove down in '03, I was amazed how well the drive went, considering we left Springfield MA at 8 PM at night, after working all day and having one of my MBA classes. From 3-5 AM, between roughly the PA/OH border and Cinncinati, I drove through some of the worst rain I've ever experienced...a hurricane was running up the coast at that point, and I was amazed how far inland it got. At one point, after going 40 or so through a narrowed construction zone, I-71 (I think...) widened back out, and I pulled into the fast lane to pass an 18 wheeler. I didn't even get to 45 before the rear end of the Z kicked to the right, and all of a sudden I was facing the median in a perfect 90 degree spin  I somehow managed to yank it back right, and ended up completely straight again without even needing to re-correct :D I never gunned the car, and to this day have no idea what/how it happened, but it was the scariest thing ever. On the return ride home, I ran over what appeared to be a body bag at 4 AM in the middle of I-90 in NY. After that, I swore no overnight runs again :D
With fresh GSCs, plugs, wires, coolant, radiator hoses, thermostat, water pump, alignment and Mobil 1, I think I'm all set for this ride :D Doesn't seem to be any hurricanes, either!
See you Sat at 7 AM, Doug!
Fbodfather 09-14-2005, 12:35 AM **Paging RP** What are you bringing this year, besides the Silver C6 Z06 you will be riding in on. ;)

SSR
Push/pull Citation (long story about this one......)
Hurst Trans Am
69 Trans Am
93 PPG world Pace CAr

98 SS "RockSStar" (wuz the poster SS in several brochures, ads, and posters....)
and Camaro Trans Am Racer.
Guys and Gals...come on and show up..........you won't regret it.
Jason E 09-14-2005, 12:41 AM I don't suppose you'll be allowing test drives of the TB SS or the HHR, would ya? I promise I won't tell anyone... :)
BTW, that push/pull Citation still exists???? I'm probably the only one under 35 on here who knows what that damn thing is!!!! I have all of my dad's Motor Trend back issues dating back to 6/79 (it was my education...better than my MBA :D ), and I remember seeing a small feature on that car. I can't wait to see it in person after all these years...
Leave it to me to drive over 2k miles this week and get excited over a 20 year old X Body with 2 2.8s in it :D
Z284ever 09-14-2005, 12:46 AM Jason, make sure to take copious notes at the breakfast meeting! :D
Jason E 09-14-2005, 12:50 AM ;)
I don't want Scott to banish me...maybe Scott will let Ashleigh take notes. She's a helluva lot cuter than me, especially at 7 AM :D
Fbodfather 09-14-2005, 01:01 AM ;)
I don't want Scott to banish me...maybe Scott will let Ashleigh take notes. She's a helluva lot cuter than me, especially at 7 AM :D
yeah...and she's cuter than you at 7 pm, too!
(running, ducking, hiding......)
Jason E 09-14-2005, 01:10 AM  To be honest, I won't argue that point :D I'm sure she'll appreciate that comment when I go wake her up in 45 minutes...
Between you, me and the rest of the board...getting her up at 2 AM is going to be a severe test of her cuteness :D Have a safe flight Scott...I'm sure I'll be seeing you soon!
OctaneZ28 09-14-2005, 02:51 AM See you all there! :D
Just look for the Navy Blue Camaro with mirror rear-inlays.
Yes, I said mirrors. lol
I'll drag my sleepy behind out the door and meet up with you all for a nice breakfast chat. :)
HTWLSS 09-14-2005, 09:33 AM We got into B.G. on Tuesday afternoon. Ready and waiting for everyone to start showing up on Wednesday. Look for the SSOA banner at the Country Hearth. We'll be hanging out in the evenings over at the Continental Inn and all of you are welcome to bring your chair and visit with all of us.
mustangmuncher 09-14-2005, 09:47 AM This will be my first major road trip with the car, and can't wait to get there. I am only going to be there friday, saturday, sunday. Can't wait to see all of your guys' cars out there.
-Eric
JasonD 09-15-2005, 10:08 AM Me and Jacob are heading out tonight and driving through the night. Should be there Friday morning. Someone better have a cup of coffee ready for me. :)
