Just wanted to say i tried the rubbing alchahol on my cars most recent tree sapping... After trying all sorts of sap removers, tar/ bug removers, clay bar etc... this is by FAR the best way to remove tree sap. The stuff dissolved within seconds with only a tiny bit of rubbing.
I had the real dried on for 1 week tree sap on my car... the fresh stuff usually comes off easy :) Anyhow... it really does work 1000x better! :)

Is it hard on the paint and does it leave any scratches?

I don't think it's great on the paint but it comes off soooo easily that I can almost dab it off. So no scratches and FAR less rubbing than any other products I used. I would say that the other products were probably far worse on the paint given that they all required a good bit of rubbing (ie scratches) to get off. I would only use the rubbing A on a cleaned surface anyhow... after a wash and before a wax for instance.

rubbing alchahol isnt harmful to paint at all hell you can actually use laquer thinner to clean it off if you want thats what i use to clean off the rubber from my fenerwells and bottom on my quarterpanels only problem with that is it will remove the wax too but oh well i wax all the time so it dont matter never thought of using rubbing alchahol have to try that some time gotta watch out for tree sap some tree sap if it gets to sit on the car for a long time will start eating through the clear and screw up your paint

Thats a very bad idea putting laquer thinner on your paint will melt it if you don't get it off right away. Its ok to use as long as you dry it as soon as you get the stain off. Its still not a good idea tho

I tried rubbing alcohol and it works AWESOME! I can't believe I've never heard of using that before.
I used to use lacquer thinner (not on the TA of course) but on other cars and it worked ok but it is rough on the paint. It leaves scratches when you rub the sap off but it is good for tar and stuff like that.

I can't believe anyone would use lacquer thinner on paint. Everyone does know that it is used to cut oil based paint? Alcohol is different. I actually use denatured alcohol to prep for paint.

alcohol is very useful when detailing also, wipe it on after a polishing to get rid of fillers and it will uncover how youre coming along:Thumb:
