Well, my service engine light has been on for quite some time, and i had it scanned and it said missfire cyl 5 and its been going through quarts of oil like nothing, so i finally took it into my shop today and we were hoping it was jsut a bent rod but theres a hole in the piston. :cry: It still runs but we dont know how much longer it will...I personally believe the problem had begun with the previous owner (i have owned since feb) and tit has since progressed to this stage.
Tomorrow morning ill have an estimate for a forged LS6 short block.
I am getting 5.3 ported heads/springs/retainers for 800
custom shop grind camshaft from comp camps for 400
free timing chain + pushrods
full blueprint tranny rebuild 1000
I am on a pretty tight budget and i am unsure of exactly what i should do in this situation. should i just replace all the pistons and not get a whole forged LS6 sb? i have been told that this is the best way to go for the least amount of money. I will have complete details/prices and a larger list later this morning. Then maybe you guys will beable to better help me. Thanks! :D
