after i drive my camaro somewhere, i always get this weird kind of smell from the engine area. it almost smells like burning rubber or something burning. i've tried opening the hood up to see if i could locate where its coming from but its almost impossible. has anyone else had this problem or does anyone have a clue?

check your spark plug wires, looms, etc, something is melting probably

Also, check your exhaust. Ive read where people run over a plastic bag and the up draft caused it to stick to the hot exhaust pipes. They further stated that it takes forever for it to simply melt off. Also, be sure to check your belt. Could have a pulley that decided it didnt want to turn as freely anymore.

Your intake is one piece
Nope, 3.8s have separate upper and lower sections....

As Loochy88 said, you probably have some type of exhaust leak, check the egr valve.

egr valve?? what and where is that?
It recirculates exhaust gases to lower combustion temperature, reducing NOX emissisions.
Its on the drivers side of the engine on a 3.8L behind the power steering reservoir.
Theres a silver convoluted tube coming out of it,going to the intake manifold.
Edit for spelling

youre going to need to find where the oil's leaking from to figure that one out.
