weird smellwakebordr2006 07-14-2005, 06:01 PM after i drive my camaro somewhere, i always get this weird kind of smell from the engine area. it almost smells like burning rubber or something burning. i've tried opening the hood up to see if i could locate where its coming from but its almost impossible. has anyone else had this problem or does anyone have a clue? Ive read where people run over a plastic bag and the up draft caused it to stick to the hot exhaust pipes. They further stated that it takes forever for it to simply melt off. Also, be sure to check your belt. It recirculates exhaust gases to lower combustion temperature,reducing NOX emissisions. Its on the drivers side of the engine on a 3.8L behind the power steering reservoir. Theres a silver convoluted tube coming out of it,going to the intake manifold.
