Distributor gear

I swapped out the stock 305 engine from my RS Camaro. My question is do I need to change the distributor gear since I am using an LT-4 Hot Cam? The 305 engine was a roller block.

If it had a roller cam in there before there would be no reason to change the gear (if it is in good shape).

The HotCam is a cast core anyways so even if you had a flat tappet the distributor gear will be the same.
