I figured it out! The f-bods werent selling because...

...half of the fathers, husbands, boyfriends, etc that went in to buy one, were threatened with a breakup from their significant other who would be riding in the most anti-passenger car ever! I only have to sit in that seat once in while but it is not fun at all. The new Camaro has to be practical for everyone, period.

Oh and advertising helps too. :D

Easy General, I believe we are due for another discussion on this topic of grave importance. We have not had a new thread started on this since last week.

Maybe I need to make a new screen name, so I can start a new post with a 1 post count that says,

"Anyone know when the new Camaro is coming out"

I took offense at first to your "easy General", but then realized that we were on the same page.

USHotRod, with all politeness form me, why don't you delete this post and either use the search button, or just start reading somewhere.

WOW! You must be in charge around here!

Relax man.

Its a valid point, my wife dislikes riding in my car at times as well, mostly because of the stupid "Cat" hump.....

Gotta admit, that passenger hump topic has been beaten to the ground... so to speak. :)

I don't think it's that bad, my girlfriend has an 85, and I'm on my second 97 F-body. The hump dosne't really bother me. Maybe I'm just used to it.

and with all politeness to you, get over yourself, and get a life. Seriously...

You can always tell the ones that were picked on in school. The second they can say something on the internet and no one will know who they are, they do. Who really cares if its been said before? I dont live on this site. I have other things going on. I've been here for a few years and the only reason my post count isnt higher is because of people like you. Anyways, like I said, get a life.

Learn to be friendly. You post monitors pretty much make me sick. So people haven't used the search button. Maybe it's been said before and they just want to say it again... It's the internet. They have just as much a right to say whatever they want, as much as you do to make a complete ignorant fool of yourself. Be constructive next time and tell them, "Yes, we have debated this for a while. The general consensus is true. Try using the search feature, you will find plenty of threads like this."

Maturity really doesn't bloom with age.

Guys, guys, you take this too seriously. It's just a little bit of humour, we meant no offense. Just something to "electrify" the mood round here

;)

But since we're on the subject, do you guys think that a top dog Z/28 should have a turbo? Honestly.

Abidar

Leave the turbo to the owner/aftermarket. As much as I like forced induction, I'd rather see a naturally aspirated Z/28.

Back on the passenger friendly thing, my wife hates the bump, and the fact that my seat is power and hers is not, i am riggin' up a passenger power setup but ran into trouble cuz of the hump but it'll get done soon enough.....n e ways i am too lazy to search for an old thread its just way easier to post on a new thread then to hit search and find an old one on the subject......btw 3 10" type r's almost kill you in the 4th gens, guess its cuz of the hatchback (plus had tops off).

Like all my other posts this one did not make sense and totally left people lookin  so sorry

Same here. I had questions raised about what it was, but everyone whom I had in the car with me did not complain. Instead, they were more impressed with the car to complain about the hump.

I rode a number of times in the passenger seat as well, thought it was kind of neat to have your knees at the same level as your chin. It also had lots of room to stretch the legs forward, and I am no shortie at 5 feet 11.

I have a friend who is 6'4", 260lbs. He hates riding shotgun because he doesn't fit. Can't stretch out his legs, has to lean the seat way back so his head doesn't hit. He claims when he looks forward all he sees is the sunvisor and windshield header. He has to crook his neck downward to really see out :p

I don't like the hump, but the main issue I have with the passenger seat is the lack of height adjustment. I don't like sitting that low on the ground. Also the stock Camaro seats suck balls. I swapped mine out for Firebird seats and they are much better.

The hump in the Camaro bothers my wife (and other passengers) less than the Envoy tranny tunnel that takes the space where the passengers left leg is supposed to go.

The 4th gen was very anit-passenger. That is one thing that will help me decide between a GTO, 5th gen Camaro, and CTS come 2008. The 4th gen was a huge car on the out side, but smaller than an Aveo on the inside.

None of my passengers have ener had an issue with the hump. Only issue may have been that when looking forward, all they could see was the dash and the tops of the buildins and sky because they were sitting so low.

You can sit around it.. but its still a little awkward.. Anyone close to 6 foot or over has to sit in a strange position..

and the visibility sitting in that seat sucks!

and the first thing everyone always says is, whats with this hump? Some even go as far as lifting the the floormat to check if anything is stuck under there!

I did have a problem w/ the seat not being able to go back as far as the driver's side, though, and the shape of the dash that sucks up leg room.

And, going from a 2nd Gen to a 4th gen, the seating position & headroom issues were glaringly apparent !

I would assume :p that a 5th Gen, being an all new design, will have those problems addressed.

See I always found that funny. I'm 6'6" and I could fit just fine in the driver seat but had the same problems your friend had when in the passenger seat.

I've never wanted a car because of passenger room. If they're your passenger they're lucky enough to get a ride in the first place.

I have more of a problem with the incredibley tight squeeze it is on the passenger side...It feels like you're going to be smashed to a pulp if there's ever a side impact. The hump has really never bothered me though
