yet another a/c problem

you can tell it is hot all over. i have a 95 firebird. sometimes the a/c works and sometimes it doesnt. mostly not. when it does come on it is real cold. the dealer says the low pressure switch is bad, but when it is not working you cant use a jumper wire to get the compressor on either. any suggestions? t-tops are nice, but man it gets hot in there. thanks

Sometimes if your low on freon the compressor will only kick on occasionally, hook up a freon gauge and check your level, make sure you hook it up on the low pressure side (big line) If your low then add some freon and compressor will kick on. Good luck.
