Anyone else JUST notice that our glove boxes lock?

I consider myself an obesrvant person, but holy hell, a month or so ago my friend told me to leave the windows down in a lot, and i was like "not with my radar detector in the car" and hes like "put it in the glove box and lock it", and i was like "it doesnt lock", and he grabbed my keys, and to my amazment, put them in under the glove box handle and locked it.

Ive had the car for like almost two years, detail it constantly, and JUST noticed the glove box locked.

I know they do...even noticed it right away....used it a couple times as well - but now I rarely use it because I forget it exists....not because I don't "know" it locks... I remember just reading a thread about this yesterday though, so I know you're not alone ;)

lol yeah i noticed it back when i bought it, but thats because i do the same thing with my jeep, throw all the goodies in there an lock it because im too lazy to put the tops back up :D

I can't even find my glove box....

Hell yeah I knew it locked..........the stupid thing gets stuck all the time. :mad:

i found that out when i was doing my t56 swap. :D After 2 years

Must be the way the glovebox is angled.

My light was always on. It bugged me at night, I could see the light coming out of the cracks. So I yanked the bulb.

sweet, i never noticed it had a lock, and last year i found out my rear seats fold down.

Yea, you just use the door key, and its right under the handle. The way its angled tho, unless you are like laying under the dash, on the passanger side, 69ing with your girlfriend, you wont find it.

I frequently use the lock on my glove box.

I also have noticed that the light in the glove box never went out - so I took it out.

The light in the glovebox NEVER goes out? Even when you close it? I have never seen light coming from there...

There's a switch but the glove box has to close perfectly for it to hit.

i dont even think my glove box has a light...lol and until today i never knew it locked either. I just thought it was one of the many things that GM forgot to put in the car.

i've had 3 4th gens and never have i seen this "locking glovebox"

i read this, had to check, nope, doesnt even have a glovebox, looked at the other maro, glovebox was there, so was the lock. the light even turned on when i opened it and off when i closed it!!!!

im kinda mad at myself for going out there at 1am just to see that my glovebox locked :D

i was just hopin to help some other people out. now i got a place to keep my radar detector!
