I'm looking a couple new tires to put on my Z because driving on seriously screwed up alignment destroyed the last ones. I previously had 285 Kumho 712's and i'm looking for something that can handle as well or better but with a bit better treadware (my fronts are 3/4 down after 9k). So i'm wondering if anyone has had any experience with these tires.

555s if you got the money
MX's if you dont
712s if you dont AND you like to do burnouts (these tires are tough as nails...somewhat crappy for traction though)

I have the MX 285. I have 20k on these tires. And they are still showing 4-5.5 32nds left.(but they sure don't look like that.....:() But they have lasted 20k. Never did burnouts until now. Did take some turns though. Pretty good tires. I"M going to try the firestone wide ovals next....

IMO the 712 sucks. The MX is a softer tire than the 555.

712 is a good cheap tire.. I think they were almost as good as the Comp TA's when new.. but after two years, they were rock hard.

I *just* got the MX's mounted on.. and this tire rocks!
