best way to remove 3 years of Meguiars from tires?Down 07-07-2005, 07:12 PM I would like to remove 3 years worth of Meguiars tire care since its gotten kinda chunky and put a fresh coat on, any tips for easily removing it? unvc92camarors 07-07-2005, 07:36 PM 3 years? I'd try Eagle 1 wheel cleaner (orange bottle). Seems to work great for me. 99andMine 07-12-2005, 03:20 PM A bottle of degreaser, a tire scrub brush and bucket of soap. A lil elbow grease and theyll be brand new black. unvc92camarors 07-12-2005, 10:30 PM Be careful with that degreaser though, if you use something like Simple Green. That stuff is strong and I believe can eat off your paint (atleast that's the worry people have about the engine bay cleaning.) LaSSt One 07-13-2005, 09:51 AM Degreaser sounds a little aggressive. I'd go with a stiff brush and car soap. If you are not getting anywhere with that, then maybe some dawn dishwashing soap. I had build up from this stuff, just a stiff brush did the trick for me. Threxx 07-13-2005, 10:13 AM Stop using silicone-based tire dressings and you won't have this problem anymore.:p Some heavily dish-soap-laden water and a scrub brush followed by wesley's bleech white should take care of any and everything on the tires. Follow immediately with some decent tire dressing, like 303 Aerospace protectant.
