ATE Super Blue Brake Fluid

I'm running a '98 Z in F-stock. Next year I plan to have some upgraded pads and do a few Performance Driving Events/Track Days. Mostly I'll be autocrossing 1-2 a month.

Should I run or do I need ATE Super Blue? The car nut in me sez 'yup.', but the bike nut want's it's time too. Is there an advantage to running it over off the shelf fluid? Thanks.

You probably don't need it for the higher boiling temp. But unlike standard brake fluid syn. doesn't absorb moisture. Standard brake fluid can absorb enough moisture to lower it's boiling temp. and of course cause corrosion.

I'd do it... I can't wait to start using it when I get back into working on my car again...

I have had lots of problems with off the shelf fluids and cooking them in my clutch and brakes...

I am generally a "save a buck" guy but I wouldn't skimp there but I do run my car in wetter/hotter enviroment then most.

I like it, but there is a version that isn't blue. The blue stuff stains plastic. Just get the ATE TYP 200 from www.raceshopper.com It's the same stuff without the blue dye.

Synthetic DOT 3 & 4 absorb moisture, which is why they have a wet and dry boiling point.

DOT 5 is (IIRC) a Silicone based fluid and does not absorb moisture.
