Hi - Thanks in advance.

I have a 01 z28 LS1. I am trying to replace the Rack & Pinion. I read some posts on the board on how to do it and have the car half apart and I am stuck.

On the drivers side the bolt holding the rack will not clear the oil pan. I have tried jacking the engine and everything I know how to do except taking the engine mount apart which I really do not want to do.

Appreciate any help.

For the next guy ... finally figured it out. GM did not leave enough clearance to get the drivers side bolt out of the rack & pinion with the engine in. It cut out easy enough with a recip saw. I reinstalled with the nut on top.
