I honestly think....

If we bitch enough, we`ll get back the Camaro. We need to find an email or somthing of some one that can make somthing happin and just rip him a new ******* until somthing is done. Thats what the Ford boys done when they tried to make the Mustang the Probe. Lets do it.

'I honestly think' It would be a damn shame if we have to continue to beg GM year after year for a new F-body. I have sent countless E-mails to GM, Wrote to GM headquarters, voiced my concerns here on this board along with thousands of other die hard GM'ers, and to be honest, i'm tired.
GM admited they can't compete with ford in the entry-level performance car market when they killed the F-body. What a shame. The buiseness they are going to loose from this blunder will be astonishing.
GM needs to get serious, step up to the plate and quit dicking around or bow down and settle with making horrible suv's and fwd econo-cars that no one wants.
And as far as what ford wanting to turn the mustang into a probe, thousands of people protested untill ford changed their minds. Obviously ford listens to their consumers, GM does not.

That's all been done before. I'm sure they hear us, I just don't think they are listening.

I honestly think...

...the next Mustang will be a great car and that if there is no Camaro, GM will lose many customers to Ford and others - permanently.

But hey - its their business. I'm just a customer. What do I know?

Out of curiosity, what was the purpose of the revised TransAm & Camaro 4th gen concepts that came out after GM killed the 4th gen?

We could....but who would we bitch too? I suppose if Scott Settlemire or Bob Lutz could listen to us, we might be able to have an influence.

I dont think bitching will matter. The car cant come back till after 2005 no matter what happens. The deal with the CAW is whats holding our car back. I have serious doubts that the real car guys in GM wanted our car to die. Its coming back, Ive got my bets on late 2006 or 2007.

I wonder about the purpose of those two concepts also.

I also wonder how long this news "blackout" on Camaro will last.

By the time we get news on a new Camaro.....(let alone get an actual car)....how many of us won't be interested in Camaros anymore.....or any other GM product.

Uhmmm I think the problem may be that SUVs and fwd econo-cars are what people want. Or at least what they have been buying. Don't get me wrong I am not defending GM for killing the F-body, they definitely have the means to keep it alive. But you can't lose sight of reality, SUV's and Fwd's pay the bills at GM.

No one cares no matter how much we beg and plead.

I'm tired of thinking about it, writing about it, looking at my car and feeling rotten about it.... especially since the last time I took it in for my monthly piston-slap war with the dealership they were busy lying thru their teeth to some poor guy about how going through a couple of quarts of oil in between changes is "normal". I bet he'll just JUMP at the chance to buy another truck from Chevrolet...

Instead of a Camaro, we're getting a $40,000, lamed out El-Camino.

In the finest tradition of badge engineering nonsense, Chevy is giving us the Silverado SS. Nice wheels guys.... too bad you forgot about the extra 70hp it needed....

Dodge is bringing out the new Hemi and the SRT/10. Ford and Nissan both have pony cars on the market now. Standard Corvettes get destroyed by Mustang Cobras, and the 50th Anniversary Corvette is a gigantic, lame, ***YAWN***.

GTO and CTSv are coming... but are both to heavy to be competitors.

2003 has been a bleak model year for Chevrolet in the performance market. 2004 looks just as bad unless something big happens.

I'll make my voice heard alright.

GM will hear it loud and clear when I make my next car a Mustang.

They can keep up with the pack and have something for me to buy by 2004-2005, or they can fall behind and let me buy yet another Ford that makes me happy.

Their choice. They'll hear it in their pocketbook if they don't heed the call.

Your right 2000 Red, i get nearly irate everytime i think about this subject. People ARE buying FWD, SUV's, and trucks are definetly the mainstay and top profit margin for GM. Only a fool would say otherwise. Like i said, i wrote before i thought.
Anyway, so what if GM wasn't selling lots of F-bodies untill July, if nothing else keep making them to keep GM's name at the top of high performance. And while they continue to make them, figure out what the damn problem is and fix it. If they would simply make what the consumers want, they could have exellent sales, F-body, or whatever. I grew so tired of hearing GM say their is no more market for the F-body 'type of car'. Thats funny, ford can't make mustangs quick enouph.
