I'm having a 40th birthday party on July 9th!

No one else will toss a party for me, so I might as well do it. You only turn fourty once.

Afternoon on July 9th, my place in Haslett. Birthday party barbeque and hangout.

Pizza, brats, burgers, air hockey, slot cars, lawn darts, and whatever else I can dream up. Three ice chests, one for the big kids, one full of pop, and one full of iced tea and water.

Maybe I'll even break out the electric guitar if anyone else brings something to plug in, and we'll make loud obnoxious noises. I like the cords of E and A, major and minor pentatonic scales. I've never played with anyone else before, but if we keep it simple, it'll sound good enough.

Email me if you might be interested in helping out or showing up!

Its a family-oriented event.

heh, the Jeep now has a fully custom Hooker aerochamber exhaust system, and a CB radio! You can't outrun that ;)

I'll plan on comming out. I'm moving this weekend and may go visit my brother in the U.P. over the 4th, but after that I should be free. It's about an hour and a half drive, so the burgers better be worth it.

:p

Well, if the burgers dont hit the spot, you could always snag up one of the brats off the barbeque. I'll be cooking some of them as well. This isnt exactly going to be a door busting bash, more like a hang-out. I'll be setting up the slot car track, plus air hockey, and some yard games for kids and adults who act like kids.

If anyone brings out an instrument or two, I might even plug in the ol' guitar and ATTEMPT to play it. I've restarted my practicing, but my fingers hurt after about 30 minutes :)

Big four-oh huh? Corngrats! I just may try to make that one.
Got a start time for sure? I'll have to buzz over to the west side of Lansing and tell them I want the afternoon off. Stoopid Securitas rules. Even during
Cadillac's shutdown we still have to report to work and get offered to go home.

Where are the Lansing regulars here? RRRR... where are you?? ;)

Bumpty-bump. We need info!

senior we could use some directionz and some more Details por favor.

ws6transam

Okay, here's the details:

Baarbeque starts casually at 1:30 PM, and goes from there. Bring a chair, and some dish to pass if you please, maybe cookies, maybe some beans, perhaps some chips with whack-a-moley [sic] dip...

At six PM, whomever is left will all toss together some bucks and order pizzas all around. I'll start up a camp fire about 7:30, and at 9:00 start up the outdoor projection video system to show a movie. Probably a family-oriented light action flick, something that kids can watch. I haven't decided what movie we'll show yet. I like Air Force One, but that's not too kid-friendly! Maybe we'll show Raiders of the Lost ark, or perhaps E.T. ?

There's the garage, with air hockey upstairs, and we're going to set up tables downstairs. Card games, maybe a slot car setup for slot car racing.

We've got Bocci ball, Croquet, and more. We've got a public address system, a microphone, and an electric guitar. We've got a swingset, and even a Spongebob Squarepants kiddie pool in case anyone gets really annoying and needs cooling down!!

Directions as follows:

1180 Haslett Road
Haslett MI 48840

Head towards Okemos E. Lansing, I96 to Okemos Road North, or I69 to old M78/Marsh Road south. Proceed north on Okemos Road to Haslett road, or proceed south on Marsh road to Haslett road. Head east on Haslett road to a location exactly 0.9 miles due east of the Haslett Road / Marsh Road intersection. (Marsh road is exactly one mile east of the Okemos road/ Haslett road intersection.) I'm on the northeast corner of Haslett Road and Academic Way.

You can show up when you like, and stay or leave when you like, so long as I dont have to clean up the party around your sleeping form when the movie is done ;)

Again, it's a family event so please keep the profanity to a minimum: I have kids that I would rather not have adding certain new words to their vocabulary ;)

dammit! I couldn't make it, sorry fellas. One of my dogs had to get surgery to remove a bad growth and I needed to stay with him at home tonight as he was still out of it from the drugs and such. He is doing well though, but I cant exactly leave him alone yet.
