Check engine light????1crazylt1 06-18-2005, 04:43 PM Ok i was just driven around in my car and then i got on it for liek 5 seconds n the check engine light cums on n it runs like **** n wants to just shut off..anybody no wat this is?? IRONFIST 06-18-2005, 04:54 PM Some sensor? just go take it in and see what code it throws... 2001NBMZ28 06-18-2005, 05:24 PM Is the SES light still on/was it flashing? Get someone to read the PCM for any codes - Autozone should be able to read it for free. Heatmaker 06-18-2005, 05:40 PM sounds like somehting might be broken..you should figure out what it is so you can fix it. Injuneer 06-18-2005, 05:54 PM Might want to include a "signature" with basic info about your car.... year, trans, major mods. Helps people answer your questions.... all LT1's are not the same. Scan it for codes... even if the SES light went back off, the code it still there. How hard it is to scan it will depend on what year it is. 1crazylt1 06-19-2005, 12:12 AM Will it still throw a code even thoe the check engine light isnt on..becuz the check engine light onli cums on wen iam driven then shuts off after i stop.. IRONFIST 06-19-2005, 12:52 AM That's odd, but I think it should still give you a code. Check engine light is pretty much useless in diagnosis... you need to figure out the code. It could be anything, even a loose gas cap will cause the light to come on. moparman 06-19-2005, 10:14 AM As Injuneer said, it will help if you tell us the year of car, plus trans and any mods. And if you get the code pulled, use the exact code number when posting what the code is. 1crazylt1 06-19-2005, 02:31 PM ok hears wats dont to the car: (1994 chevy z28 camaro) auto slp loudmouth slp intake slp headers slp 160 thermo B&m transmisson jegs aluminum driveshaft slp 3200 stall torque convertor 3:73 gears basically it... moparman 06-19-2005, 03:23 PM You will have to get the code pulled. Your car is OBDI, and most parts places, like Autozone, won't pull the codes from an OBDI car. You'll have to find a buddy with a scan tool, or pony up at a garage. Otherwise, you could spend mucho dinero swapping parts without fixing it. Of course you could get lucky and find it. If the light only started coming on after the header install, it could be the EGR valve. But, it's best to get the code pulled. | ||
