I live in Michigan and well....we really don't have to worry about emissions. I was thinking about moving south can anyone help me with what/if there are any enforced emission laws for North Carolina. Do you have to get your car tested each year, can they do random road tests? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

 

there are yearly tests, and the enforcement varies county to county. as far as i know, in all counties, all obd2 cars are safety/emmission tested and starting 01/01/06 all pre obd2 cars will just require safety inspections (where as now obd1 emmission regulations vary by county, and cars past a certain age are only safety inspected state wide.)

 

I just moved down here from michigan about 5 months ago i love it.....i just had to do a saftey check my car wouldn't of passed i was lucky

 

Come to Alabama. If we had testing I don't think anyone would pass .

 

Here in New Hanover County there isnt any testing yet......and to tell you the truth, all you have to do is get to know the right people to avoid that stuff anyway
