Yeah I remember someone posting saying we would find out about some new cars at this meeting.

From GuionM:
I suspect this stockholder meeting will be the most intresting, and facinating stockholder meeting in memory.

From Josh452 (in reference to Camaro oriented posts):
You guys are close. I won't spoil the fun I can't wait to hear what Kurt has to say about this. Kurt & Mr. Lutz together in the same room? Mr. Lutz was around when Kurt tried to take-over Chrysler in the 90's.

Why on earth would they do that? It doesn't even make sense. GM needs to convince shareholders they are making the right cost saving measures to increase profit. How would announcing new products accomplish this when they're already having a hard time moving existing inventory?

You need to think more like a shareholder and not an enthusiast for a minute.

I was just pointing out the posts that I put up about the meeting. I personally have no thoughts either way.

Also from GuionM:
This meeting will in all likelyhood will have more details as to what exactly GM plans tro do to get itself back on track. It will also inevitably have some type of announcement regarding future vehicles. Not necessarily specific models (though it's possible), but more likely what GM plans to replace "Zeta" with, possibly some type of timeline.

I was expecting something more alone the lines of "we will be bringing out X number of new models in the next 18-24 months", similar to what was said by Chrysler & Ford when they were against the ropes, and possibly more details on the timetable of the US Zeta, after the roasting they got when they announce putting it on ice.

It doesn't seem he's going that way, focusing instead on job cuts and restructuring that has been in the press for a month already.

Certainly not stuff to get investors pumped up.
