brakes pulsing with new rotors???

hey guys, did i do something wrong? i just installed 4 brand new rotors, but i re-used my old pads which had a good amount of meat on them still and the brakes are pulsing? i didn't overtighten the lugs either - same torque as normal. wtf? are my new rotors bad? did i miss something?

Not good to reuse pads ever. They seat to your old rotors and will be conformed to the old rotor surface. New rotors can also be warped right out of the box. I turn every new rotor I put on my car, whether its 'preturned ready to install' or not. I've had one i had to take 30 ticks off of to get flat.

New rotors, old pads a bad combination. They're more than likely pulsing because they're worked into the pattern of the old rotors.

that’s something i never thought would happen. i guess new pads are going on then. if that doesn’t cure it i’m sending the rotors back.

Also when you replace rotors you need to "season" them. Seasoning transfers a thin coating from the brake pads to the rotor surface as well as temperature cycles the new rotors. Seasoning is accomplished by making 5 firm stops at 30 mph, then 5 firm stops at 60 mph then driving around to let the rotors cool off.

5 stops at 60 will warp them hell 2 stops at 100mph and you will be shoping for some new ones.

Never had warped rotors! The Baer kit comes with instructions on how to season rotors. I also have never run the LS1 setup which most people complain about.
