350hp focus rs97z28/m6 06-04-2005, 06:28 PM why can't ford bring these herehttp://www.autocarmag.com/news_article.asp?na_id=215449 TrackMagicWS6 06-04-2005, 06:40 PM gorgeous 90 Z28SS 06-04-2005, 06:42 PM GTI on steriods ? Sweet car . With the Euro ford focus around , I have absolutely no clue why the appliance american version exists . I mean really   If Ford decided to bring those cars here , it'd be all over ...Ford would just trounce the compact market . JMO  possumslayer 06-04-2005, 06:44 PM Well, honestly if they just brought over the real new focus, instead of this reskinned one we have it would be nice. Think about it though, in the 80's the europeans had the Cosworth Escorts and all we got was the XR4Ti. No IRS, no AWD, no twin cam turbo 2 litre. Once again we get shafted! possumslayer 06-04-2005, 06:46 PM But then again... a Focus RS would probably cost about 30K. jkipp84 06-04-2005, 06:46 PM Wouldn't the bean counters be concerned about the Rustang though? Not that I agree with them, I'd love to see this car here. Pandamonkey 06-04-2005, 07:05 PM Hot Damn - I'd like to drive that thing.:) Gold_Rush 06-04-2005, 07:09 PM That is sweet. I like the possibility of a turbocharged 3.0L I-6. Leaves the other 4 banger compacts in their dust. I'm a BIG fan of the old-school Cosworths and this would make for a nicer modern interpretation. At this stage, we'd be VERY lucky if we even get the more pedestrian 217hp/236lb-ft Fwd turbo Focus ST. WJH'sFormula 06-04-2005, 07:24 PM You guys are soooo clueless.... Americans don't want performance cars, no sir! All we want to drive are petrol sucking pickups and cushy "sofas-on-wheels" .... Let those pastry sucking Euros keep their "fast-cars" .... I want my ride to be as comfy as home so I can stuff my face with Micky-Ds french fries and Coca Cola... :usa: indieaz 06-04-2005, 09:01 PM You guys are soooo clueless.... And why not, it would get better mileage (lighter) and be faster than a GT. Geoff Chadwick 06-04-2005, 11:44 PM Wow. If they can fit an engine that size under a hood and still have it look like the concept picture they show :p That hood will have to be much longer than it looks. And yeah, you'd have a $30k Focus. And the day would come that you could get a focus cheaper and slower than a V6 Mustang, and more expensive and faster than a Mustang GT. Somehow that's fundamentally wrong. :p Neat, but wrong. 346CItofreedom 06-05-2005, 04:01 PM it would be a steal at 30k. a straight six and more horsepower than an evo or sti for cheaper. falchulk 06-05-2005, 05:30 PM it would be a steal at 30k. a straight six and more horsepower than an evo or sti for cheaper. Not cheaper. They would all be around the same price as they would be in direct competition. Omegalock 06-05-2005, 05:57 PM Who needs to be cheaper when you can be faster and have more potential? ;) Abidar 06-05-2005, 06:02 PM i think i might even drive that robvas 06-06-2005, 09:57 AM I'd strongly consider buying a $25,000 turbo AWD focus Red89GTA 06-07-2005, 01:06 AM Thats it, I'm moving to England!! Get ready to be raped on the insurance. And get the best car security system you can buy, as well a huge vicious dog to sit on the back seat when you go into stores to buy something, leaving the car parked outside. Otherwise, your Focus will likely be stolen while your back is turned, later to be discovered burned out and wrecked, in the shell of an old abandoned factory somewhere :). I know insurance would be killer, but that was a dream list. Throw the McLaren F1 in there too while we're at it. On a side note, on the way home today I saw a RHD Focus RS with regular plates on it. Thought that was weird given the subject of this thread. Wish I had thought to take a pic. | ||
