Octanestmz28 05-30-2005, 08:18 PM what is the highest octane you can ran with a stock engine. 1racerdude 05-30-2005, 08:52 PM 116 cwatts23 05-31-2005, 12:57 AM why would you want to run 116 octane on a stock engine? 1racerdude 05-31-2005, 01:05 AM Ya asked what was the most ya could run????? The more octane probably the slower it will run. 92 should be about right with a tune to take advantage of it. Greed4Speed 05-31-2005, 10:58 PM Highest you SHOULD run is 93. Anything more is wasted $ and excess emissions. mustang5.0 06-01-2005, 09:24 AM Sun Ultra 94. The car runs good on it. I run 94 in my bike and can feel a better pull. My Harley friends don't use Exxon becouse of the dye in the gas. It gums up the injectors. So I don't use Exxon in the Camaro either... Jim  Jay3274bbl 06-01-2005, 04:03 PM I think 116 is leaded and if you put it in your car it will mess up your O2's. I do know they make 100 in an unleaded version, but unless you are running high compression I would stick with 93. Greed4Speed 06-01-2005, 11:14 PM I think 116 is leaded and if you put it in your car it will mess up your O2's. Leaded will ruin the cats also. danksontl 06-02-2005, 05:22 PM 93, because I have not increased my engine's compression ratio or added a power adder. With no such reason to increase the risk of detonation, you would not need anything higher than 93 in a properly functioning engine. Higher octane is more $$$$, don't waste it on gas when you can spend it on mods later. ;) | ||
