Dont you love people that dont know the camaro they are driving..

Was working Wed and ran into a kid that had a same color Camaro as my 98 Mustang..he said nice car man I told him the same..he asked if it was a GT. I said no its a V6..and he goes ohh..mine too its an RS and got aftermarket exhaust..I said it is what year..he goes 2001..and I raise my eye and go ohh cool..go in and get my coke and leave..he does the same..



Now I come home and go online and talk to a few people..and I asked..RS Camaro's had to have the package on them right to be RS's.
The responses and IM's I got were to that and they said that the last yr for the RS was 98..and thats it..and you got an RS when you had the package and nothing else and that package was the spoiler, the ground effects and the chin and rear spoilers..he had none of that..all you could get after 98 was the base, Z28 and SS..so with that new knowlege I was confident that this kid had a base Camaro nothing more and tried talking it up as an RS..

so just by luck I ran into him again and he said hey..and I asked him who told him it was an RS..he said they come like that..and I said to him you know you could only get an RS up till 98. and he said really?? I thought it was an RS.. you sure..I said yup..not that it wasnt a nice car I said its just not an RS..and he goes well its an RS to me..and again I roll my eyes and just say whatever,,see ya around..

SO if you are reading this your 2001 Camaro is a base camaro nothing more! its nto an RS its a base Camaro..thats all and I got the proof to back it up..98 was the last yr..no RS after that..

like saying my car is a SS..not a Z28... :rolleyes:

I know what you mean... I'm not sure I wanna even start talking about the things I have heard about v6 f-bodies.

things I have heard in person...

-v6s are as fast as z28s, just the computer is government regulated to keep it slower.
-they don't make cold air intakes for v6
-they don't make exhausts for v6s
-only special edition 98+ v6s came with salad shooters

and much much more... hell on the v6 boards where you assume most people are more "educated" alot of them call there base v6s RSs

Thats why you make it easy and buy a Z28, avoid most of that crap :D

there was one guy they were trying to teach how to drive a stick over the 'net.

i work at advance i had had this guy come in it was so hard not to laugh guys.
